Has anyone noticed the paint theme of the big new store across from the Lady Lake police station, behind the new restaurant, is painted in the theme of a Costco? Beige with red trim?? That would great if it is...:welcome::mademyday:

Just sent our COSTCO renewal to their Real Estate Division, and told them, we can no longer renew after 10 years of being a member, because we moved to The Villages, and that they should consider a TV location, again. We also said because they are not near us, we had to join Sam's Club, but if they build it, we will come back.

Here's the Earth Fare in Ocala, that's why you get their flyer in the Sunday Sun.

My wife was at the Wesley Chapel store a week ago to join again after almost 5 years. There was a specialty item she wanted, so she had to join again for the purchase. The membership agent (Cindy L) asked why it had been so long since we've been a member. She told her that its not conveniently close to The Villages. Well, Cindy said, you're in luck! She'd just returned from a corporate meeting and they have the permits in place and are looking for land to build it somewhere between The Villages and Ocala in 2020.

Just for the future. You don't have to join. Just get a Costco gift card and they will let you in to spend it even if you are not a member. In fact, you can buy one at Costco without even being a member. :D

Edit: Correction, you do have to be a member to get a GC but you DO NOT have to be one to use it in store or online. At one time you did not.

Try the Costco at Wesley Chapel. About an hour south on I-75, right next to the outlet mall and a big "At Home" store. No tolls or other traffic mess with patronizing the Altamonte or Orlando Millennia Mall locations.

Ahhhh and the rumors continue. Time will tell but in the 10 yrs we've lived here, it's been..."they're coming and they're not coming!" Then you'll hear, "my neighbor was there and the stock person told them he'd heard in the break room they're coming!" I've only visited one once or twice back in the area we moved here from. So can't say if I'd be a fan or not.

I've never been a member or even inside a Costco, but last year I was searching for golf gloves. I bought 4 Callaway gloves off their website for $25. I think I paid 5% more as a non-member and $2 shipping. For about $30 I got four gloves that were worth about $15 each in local stores.

About 4 years ago I wrote to them and suggested that they consider stores in areas with retirees. I called it Costco Silver. They could tailor their products for that type of market. Never heard back from them but someday some exec. there will come up with a great idea of opening stores in areas of large populations of senior citizens.

You can drive to one of three Costco's in Orlando in less than an hour. Load up, have lunch at a different Orlando restaurant or have a Costco hot dog. Nice half day trip. Wife and I do it once or twice a month. If you cancel your membership that just means I have one less person in front of me in line. Slams Club is a rip off and does not even start to compare with the quality or assortment of inventory at Costco. Good luck!:ohdear:

Been hearing this for seven years. I will believe it when it happens. TV does not fit the Costco marketing plan or demographics out lay. They want a certain number of cars in their parking lot at different hours. We are two member families. Ocala does not have the population or the median income to support a Costco nor does TV. Comparing Costco to Sam's is like comparing a Mercedes to a Kia.

I agree 100% and have been a member for close to 25 years (they were called PRICE CLUB back then by me and you had to belong to a Union or some other organizations to join - and they checked!!) then it became COSTCO but there are those who just need one or 2 items and don't want to do the trip with tolls and gas or pay the membership so a gift card may be more sensible. We do a Costco - Trader Joe's - Mall - Whole Foods then dinner trip every few weeks but I'd prefer not to drive 1+ hours.

Costco as well as Tampa Premium outlets, and if you turn left on 56 (instead of right) theres Sams, and Wiregrass Mall with Dillards, Panera and other restaurants less than 2 miles. (ps best gas prices in area, Sams/Costco same price usually)

Hogpilot, I apologize for all of the juvenile (and not funny) responses.

The reason for those type responses is that there are at least 30 different threads on here about "Costco is coming" over the past 10 years. Do a search and you will find them. Most start or have in them a few "I heard for the __________ that Costco is going to build a store here". And the blank is usually a very questionable source.

So it's honestly no disrespect for the OP it's just we have all heard this rumor for so long it has become a source of a good laugh most of the time. The truth will show up one day and be on their web site and most of us can't wait for it to happen.

Until then we make a trip to the one at Wesley Chapel once a month with a big cooler. It's less than an hour door to door straight down 75.

All they need is a Total Wine at that location!

Went there yesterday to see how it compares to the Millennia location. Very pleased. Wine selection was a little better plus they had the Rana Lobster Ravioli which Millennia does not carry. Gas was $2.15 a gallon.

I just heard that the building going up on 466A right in front of Colony is going to be a Costco. It was supposedly going to be a Dunkin' Donuts (seems doubtful, look at the design of front of the building), then maybe an Assbin Dental (The Slimy Used Car Salesman Dealership of Dentistry) but Assbin decided to sell to Costco who decided to open a $1.50 hot dog/soda combo stand there to compete with Sam's Club (who is competing with Costco) and then put a Costco Gas Station where Shell used to be.

Or maybe I'm wrong? Never mind!

You didn't REALLY think I was serious about Costco building there did you? As for DD, look at the finished window framing on the front of the building as well as the size of the building and tell me if it looks like how 90% of the DD store fronts look. I would def prefer DD to Assbin Dental though.

Hmmmm. the membership agent at a local Costco is privy to their future corporate building plans. Maybe, but I remain skeptical:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: It's sort of like an ambassador on one of our courses telling us they plan to build 6 new championship courses south of 44.
