I agree with above, what happened? Try using Google, make, model, and what is wrong you might get lucky with a solution. If you are not handy with opening up the TV and replacing parts, IMHO, just bite the bullet and buy a new set. I tried getting a set repaired about 3 years ago, it was a waste of money, I ended up throwing the TV away. I was not lucky is getting a suitable reply to the failure I had...
Last year I bought a 75 inch, 4k MONITOR, for under $1000. NOTE: this was NOT a TV which cost an additional $600, the difference is the MONITOR does NOT have a tuner. This was fine for us as we use a cable box. neighbors just bough a UHD 72 inch for a little more and it had a tuner, prices keep dropping.
back to the repair, it cost $75 to get the repairman to the door, non refundable....

Based on what I know, repair it.

You didn't say what the issue was so I will make some guesses.
- the panel (the glass) is bad, buy a new TV
- some of the diffusers for the back lighting have come loose. You can take the set apart and reattach the diffusers. Pretty easy, see Youtube for details. I have helped a friend do this in the past.
- the system board is starting to fail. You can order a replacement over the internet and replace pretty easily. I have done this in the past.
I would the highest probability at #2 - diffusers have come loose. Please provide more details and a picture if possible. Good luck.

OK, go to Google, type in the make and model number and the problem. Odds are you will get a few YouTube videos and sites that will offer info for home repair and parts. I know a few people that have done this. Now one word of caution, make sure there is a return policy for any parts you buy, if they do not fix the problem are defective themselves. Figure on several days for the repair including shipping time for the parts. Also figure your TV will be occupying the dining room table for that period of time. Pay very close attention which screws go where.
Good luck.

If you had some bright, circular areas it would probably be a problem with the back light diffusers but based on what you just posted I believe there is a good chance your system board is failing. You may want to try replacing it yourself by ordering a new part over the internet. They are trivial to replace. Whether that is actually the issue is another story.
