The Federal Govt. hopes to raise 23 billion with a new Internet Tax and Mail-Order Tax ............. and the beat goes on and on and on .............

There are valid points to be made. When you have a system set up with certain funding mechanisms in place and that funding dries up, you have to react SOMEhow.

A National Internet Sales Tax, oddly enough, would be constitutional but I personally believe that D.C. would screw it up. I'd be surprised if even 75 cents of every dollar would be returned to the dtates. And what about states like mine - New Hampshire - where we have NO state sales tax? If this tax were to replace lost sales tax revenue, what happens here? Do we get charged the tax and get nothing? Do we get the taxes collected on our purchases? The B&M stores would like that since I would be less likely to go to Amazon and more likely to go to Best Buy if that were the case.

It's like the fortcoming debate with electric cars. The less gasoline we use, the less gas tax will be collected for keeping the roads in shape. The options are either close the roads or find another way to maintain them.
