Has anyone had experience with this diagnosis and who did they see for surgery and treatment?

Don't live there yet so can not help you with recommendation, but wanted to tell you that you are in my prayers for complete healing. We have a neighbor here that just had his checkup after beating it and is CANCER FREE! Good luck in finding the right Dr!

Who did the diagnosis? It depends on what stage you are in, your health. You should have been offered a few specialty guys to interview. I find that while one person loves their guy, I may not.

I am just finishing up throat cancer treatments at the Davis Cancer Center at Shands Hospital at UF in Gainesville. Very happy with the Docs and the service there.
Shands is a specialty hospital for head and neck cancers. You might want to go there...
PM me if you want more info
Best of luck my friend...

I had throat cancer and used a variety of doctors including the team at Shands. Recommend Shands. Who you use can determine the outcome. I was misdiagnosed by three board certified doctors. Fortunately, I found someone who correctly diagnosed the cancer, scheduled me for emergency surgery the next day and literally saved my life.

Still thinking about this post....
In my case, I was moving to FL within days of my diagnosis. So I got my regular Doctor in NC to send Shands an “Urgent Referral Request” ... Shands called me within 2 days and I was there in Gainesville at an appointment within 5 days. Now that I have seen what they can do and how they go about it, I wouldn’t consider anyone else.
Their “team” approach is synchronized to make you feel comfortable throughout the whole journey.
Just as TCRSO stated above, Shands has saved my life as well...
-Prayers,
