I have lived in TV for some time and still don't understand WHY people bring their pets to other villager's property to do their business? It's disrespectable and gross!
I have a courtyard villa on the corner and today when I entered my street a resident was allowing his dog to defecate in the front of my property!
I reminded him that it was my property and to please not bring his dog again. He replied "I will try"

Was he in the street? I wallk my dogs in the street and pick up their poop. Someone did say you should not do that. I guess he did not get the street is not his property.

The rules are really pretty simple, your dog, your property, my dog, my property. Never should someone else’s animal be on another persons property without permission. Respect goes a long way towards congenial neighbors.

Yep, been awhile since the last dog poop post. I thought the problem was solved for all of TV, guess not.

My situation is solved. I gathered both midnight dog walkers and had them bring their husbands and laid out the law of my land. Simple, Very Diplomatically, Handled. They understood. We even served them Coffee and Cake and stayed friends.

They of course denied any wrongdoing at first until like Warner Wolf said years ago, lets go to the videotape. Actually The Cloud I guess. It was clearly them and they couldn't deny it. I let them off the hook immediately. I did mention if they had a slip that I would reciprocate with the action myself on their lawn. We don't have a Doggie anymore. Case Closed.

There are so many fun things do do at the Villages, I don’t really give a poop about Dodd’s poops.

A sure cure?
Maybe....but it is fun.
When you see them headed for your yard run in and turn on the sprinkler system for that zone. You may miss but eventually you will hit it.
Yes I have done it!! :)

Well stated.

I don't have an issue with it. Then again, my property is not being "directly" sought out along the way. I guess it's just a pit stop on the walk. I don't own the property all the way to the end of the street as there is a right of way, so if they stay in that area (whether it's grass or stones) and clean up, that works for me. We live where there are a lot of dogs, but they have very respectful owners.

Dogs must walk to do their business. They don't know property lines. Stop being an idiot and post a sign. If the dog owner does not clean up the poop, then kick him in the tail.

It's not just the dog poop, yesterday I watched a dog urinate on the grass across the street and from then on every other dog that walked past that spot stopped , smelled, then marked that spot with his own urine. Tell me how the owners pick up the pee. I believe owners just don't want to ruin their lawn.

What ever happened to the two pet rule. The Daily......had a article about two women who love their dogs and also have several cats at home.

Getting technical here …. but for most lots (can't speak to villas), your property line ends approximately 12 feet from the curb. It's the area where most dogs do their business. As long as dog owners pick up the mess, I have no problem.

Not the whole truth, while the county has easement rights to your property from the curb, it is NOT considered public property. That is why we all have grass and sprinklers to the curb, no one besides the county easement rights has a right to utilize that property. If that were true, we could all feel free to park our cars and golf carts on the neighbors lawns with no legal retribution.

I’m a dog walker and always pick up the dog poop. Are you offended by just the act of the dog pooping, or do they leave the poop in your yard? If they pick it up, what’s the problem? Lots of times people have to WALK the dog. They could go to a dog park or try to make it go in their yard but that’s not always possible. My question is, what is it doing to hurt you? If you had not seen them and they picked it up, you would never have known they were there.

Sorry, besides the dogs not knowing property lines, they can’t read signs either, but the owners know property lines. The easiest thing to do is let them poop in your yard first then walk them or keep them home or take them to dog park.

Welcome to the club of disrespect of dog owners. I have run in's with more than one dog owner about coming onto private property to have it's dog do it's business. The Village is over populated with disrespectful dog owners and I also ask the question whats wrong with their lawn. This is one Village rule that needs to be put in place. DO IT ON YOUR LAWN.

Was walking the dog a few cold mornings ago. Had picked up Beau's poop with a newspaper bag and had walked on. He had went on a yard right next to a man's yard. He had been out doing something to his golf cart. He started asking me if my dog had pooped on his yard while we were a few house down. I told him "No!" Which was true. There must have been another dog that had done its business. Lots of dogs on this block where I was walking as Beau often takes a half hour to go around it as he has to pee where the other pooches of gone.

I usually go to the dog park but sometimes skip it if is too cold or have appointments in the morning.

I do not see the big deal, as long as the owners clean up. It sounds like all of us old people are getting like the scary old man that keeps balls that roll on his grass!
