CNBC is running the 1987 movie Wall Street this weekend. I recorded it so we could get past those commercials fast when we watched it. It’s on again tonight.

Wall Street – Maybe you remember it from its first run 23 years ago --The Hubris of Greek mythology meets the Prodigal Son.

I am aware that I am posting this in the investment forum and not in the movie or television forum. That was a conscious decision. If you are tuned in to the market and you have been for a while, you might find this movie particularly interesting in retrospect.

Where or where was Martin Sheen when we needed him this century???

BoomerBear (at least while I wait around to see where the tax cuts end up on expiration)

Whoops! Forgot my disclaimer -- I have no pieces of paper that say I know anything at all about investing; therefore, I have no idea what I am talking about. There is even a rumor around here that I could be an English major. (YIKES!)

Um, Boomer, usually I can follow your train thought, but not this time. Want to try clarifying your point -- other than it was a movie about greed and nothing's changed (if that was your point)?

The sequel came out this weekend. Michael Douglas reprises his role as Gordon Gekko. Given Douglas' battle with throat cancer this may be his last movie.
