Sad day for Rush fans. Such a great drummer for the greatest band in history.

RIP. I just read it was brain cancer. He fought it for three years.

My all time favorite musician. Ghost rider... ride on.

It was probably only about 5 years ago after his wife and daughter both died within a year, I believe of cancer, he rode a motorcycle from Canada to the tip of South America. That's hard enough to do in a modern country. He was just as skilled a bike rider as a drummer. I guess that will be the end of Rush, I don't foresee them finding a replacement like the Who, but more like Led Zeppelin.

I was just watching a few Rush videos yesterday too. Every year it seems we lose another of the greats. We owe it to the next generation and the one after that to pass the music down!

Ghost rider... ride on.
He was also a very accomplished writer and storyteller. I enjoyed his books as well as his music.

If you're interested in his history, I suggest reading 'Ghost Rider'. It's a very good/easy read and tells all about the tragic/sudden death of his daughter then his wife's illness and subsequent passing. He went into great detail of his own personal sadness and his stories of going on the road to escape or deal with his losses.

Died at 67, just seems way too young but I guess time is passing for all. Listening to 2112 right now!

As a drummer I will say that Neil was an absolute beast behind a kit... He also in later years incorporated mesh v-drums along with analog drums thus forming a hybrid kit. Him, along with Bonham, are the thunder you will hear from the heavens next rainy season ... RIP meaning Rock In Peace

That is a beautiful thought and I will listen for them.

Was very lucky to have seen Rush many times over the years and many of them at the MGM Grand in Vegas. I was fortunate to be on the 1st row of their last Vegas show (July 30, 2015) right in front of Geddy!! That was an incredible experience to feel that bass thumping thru my body. It was actually their next to last show ever. They ended the tour on Aug 1, 2015 in LA to never perform again. Will never forget!!
