Article in todays Daily Sun by Nancy Wood regarding Sunday golfers not in church.
The Rev. Alan Liphart at The World of Golf Village, St Augustine used the following poem in one of his services.
I thought it quite clever and funny.

The Lord is watching me, I dont like my chances,
He maketh balls lie down in deep rough
He leadeth shots into still waters
He restoreth my slice
He leadeth me down the wrong cart path cofused for his name's sake
Yea though I drive through, past the valley of bunkers, I still fear those sand traps
My irons and putters confound me
Thou preparest a fast green before me in the presence of my foursome
Thou annointest my brow with sweat
My ball runneth over the cup
Surely birdies and pars will elude me all the days of my life
Untill I dwell in the house of the Lord on Sunday mornings.

It's never a good thing to judge. Many Sunday golfers go to church on Saturday evening. Or the earliest AM service on Sunday.

And not going to church does not necessarily make one a bad person.

Lighten up Please.

It was not a profound statement to be taken seriously!

It is better to play golf and think about God, than it is to go to church and think about golf.

Sorry I had to leave this reply. We used to say this when fishing.

I prefer early church then late golf at Pelican.

How about putting an offering plate at each starter Shack on Sunday mornings. No more guilt

When I golf on Sunday mornings I always pray. I pray that my ball goes in the cup.

Being Jewish, I can golf all day Sunday without feeling guilty :>A related story.

On one of our many trips to The City, I was going to surprise my wife and take her to the diamond district...to buy her a really nice diamond ring for Christmas.

I made this big production about how it was going to be a great surprise, wouldn't tell her where we were going and just basically made it out...to be a big deal.

So when we arrived in the middle of the district and I said "Ta-Da, let's find you something really nice"...she looked at me like I was an alien.

Yeah, I hadn't realized it was Saturday and given the number of Jewish businesses in the district...about +-75% of the stores were closed.

She never tires of telling people, how her cheap husband tried taking her diamond shopping in the Big Apple...on a Saturday. :o
