Sent to me in an email from one of my childhood girlfriends back home:

A group of 40-year-old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner.

Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant, because the waiters there had tight pants and nice buns.

10 years later at 50 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant, because the food there was very good and the wine selection was good also.

10 years later at 60 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant, because they could eat there in peace and quiet and the restaurant had a beautiful view of the ocean.

10 years later, at 70 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant, because the restaurant had Early Bird Specials, was wheel chair accessible, and they even had an elevator.

10 years later, at 80 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant, because they had never been there before.

Oh BK,
That is so funny. I go to Myrtle Beach every year with 12 gals (this year was our 40th year).
I am amazed that that many women are still good friends.
Anyway, so far we have always remembered the dates, although this year I initially booked my flight for the wrong dates and had to rebook:cus:
Anyway, we started out as all tennis and bridge players although the number of tennis participants have reduced
(never knew there are so many bad knees!).
I am sure your story is in our future!:laugh:
Thanks for making my day.

islandgal, that is a wonderful and amazing story. What great friends you have. Has the Myrtle Beach Sun News ever done a feature story on you and your friends? What a great interview that would be. Amazing. I admire that. I bet you have some stories from that trip throughout the years. Are any of the girls your family?

My husband's niece from Northern NY, near Canada, goes to Myrtle Beach every year with her husband's family. Her inlaws started going years and years ago with a group of school teachers before any of them had children. They are all educators. They still go all of these years later. Now of course, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have joined the trip. I love that.
