Separating the website by dollars

Since we have so many ads for houses for sale, why not separate items for sale by dollars. As an example, items selling for $500 or $750 can be in one part of classifieds and anything over i.e. homes, would fall into a separate category. This would greatly streamline the site and avoid seeing homes we're not going to buy anyway. Appreciate your response to this idea.

There is currently an option to sort the listing from price low to high and high to low. Are you thinking of something different?

I -think- the poster is asking about filtering, not sorting. So instead of loading up every listing in the entire database by price...

you can load up only those listings that fall between $500 and $749. And then you can sort it from new to old.

A list of the end result might be:

a green widget, $503, 2 hours ago
a blue gadget, $501, yesterday
a purple whatsit, $700, 2 days ago
an orange whoosits, $642, 3 days ago
