Used Mr. Sparky to run electric line to my new jacuzzi tub in guest bath. Worked a little over 4 hours and charged $1388.00. Works out to about $350 per hour. Enough said !!!!

Make sure they pulled a permit and the work passed inspection. We had a general contractor, Wildwood Kitchen and Bath, sub some work to an electrician who came in, and did not pull a permit. We brought this to the attention of building code inspector here in Sumter County. After they made him pull the permit, after the fact, it failed inspection.

It seems like the type of project where you would have asked for a price in advance, and compared it to other competitive quotes.

Seems high, I had the exact same work done, diagonal across the entire house, new breaker (GFCI 240 v 50 A), 150 feet of wire, disconnect, etc. it was about $500 as I recall. NOW a second word of caution, I also relied on the hot tub supplier to handle ALL of the permits, etc. THEY DID NOT. There were 2 permits required, the SPA/hot tub permit and the electrical permit. We found out 18 months later when we added the birdcage and the spa had to be moved, the permits were never pulled!!!!

Mr. Sparky is a franchise--the electrician has to pay a hefty fee to Mr. Sparky --look up what it costs for a Mr. Sparky franchise--always get an estimate

I used them years ago in my business to run a new line for my server....$2400. Took just a couple of hours.
I didn’t get an estimate because I had to quickly install server.
Lesson learned....never Mr. Sparky again.

Always get at least two bids for what turns out to be an expensive job. And always get the price in writing before signing.
