For those do-it-yourselfers like me, when do you do your first application of fertilizer? For me, it's around March 15th.

About April 20 when the Zoysia starts to grow adequately...Otherwise you are just fertilizing weeds. Use high N and K with Iron.

Around 1st of April depending how warm it gets possibly last week of March..then every 6 weeks

This stuff isn't fast give it time Slow release

Southern lawns are a challenge

I buy the cheapest high N, K, w/Iron I can find. I can't afford Milorganite :)

The best time to fertilize is early-mid December so that the Zoysia is green and healthy all Winter and thru April.

It takes a bit of work to keep a nice Zoysia lawn in this climate. You should scalp the lawn (1") during rain season to get rid of the heavy Zoysia thatch layer every year.
