Add these to the ones we already know about:
Almost all doctor's offices have you sign in....with pens all the other sick folks have also signed in with.
Take your own pen or use kleenex or just ask the attendant to register your name.
The same goes for signing your check at the restaurant or bar or store et al.....again have your own pen or use a napkin.
Salt and pepper shakers and condiments in restaurants....use a napkin.
Feel free to add you recommendations.
Panicky or paranoid? NO! Just prudently smart.... for everyday care.

You can probably still buy alcohol prep pads at pharmacies. Since isopropyl alcohol will kill off the coronavirus on contact, it's probably a good idea to carry a few of these with you. You can use them after a bathroom visit, or if you are exposing yourself *more than usual* to germs (like shaking someone's hand, or using a shopping cart someone recently sneezed on, etc). I wouldn't recommend using them on a regular basis because they'll dry out your skin. But they're small, discrete, and handy to have. I carry a few on me all the time anyway, as an emergency first-aid measure. If I get a sliver or paper cut, or scrape my skin on something known to harbor dirt, a swipe from the prep pad and a dab of triple-antibiotic ointment (I carry a tiny pump container of that too, along with 3 bandaids) will give me peace of mind until I'm home where I can tend to it more efficiently.

If it gets really bad, I will stop picking my nose after handling menus, condiments, and paying by check! :icon_wink:

I Put a bottle of sanitizer alcohol in my cars and golf cart too make sure it’s at least 70% alcohol, don’t trust “made in China” stuff open doors with your elbow or use anything to open it besides your hands, don’t shake hands, just the common sense, remember that the virus can stay alive for 7 days on a door handle or pen, WASH YOUR HANDS with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds

My niece has a friend who works at the CDC. The fatalities, especially China, have more to do with pre-existing conditions. The Chinese have very poor air quality and that leads to respiratory issues that occurred prior to the virus. The virus attacks the lungs. Most people who contract the virus have it for several days before it manifests. Common sense such as frequent hand washing, avoiding crowds and people staying home if they are sick. Those unfortunate souls who have passed away had other issues before the virus struck. Their immune system was already compromised. I hope everyone does not panic. The news media loves drama!!!

You know you can take all the precautions you want & still get this virus. But it’s better than doing nothing. You heard the news this week that somebodies friend was taking them to the Dr. who thought they had the Flu & it ended up being Coronavirus. Then the person taking the friend to the Dr. was tested & they tested positive for Coronavirus just being in the car with them. So you’re not safe no matter what you do. But I do agree it’s better to try & be safe than doing nothing.

I remember when I was in second grade three of the girls in my class ate their boogers. I can't remember any boys doing so.
