The Admiral has been caught up in the resurfacing project on Buena Vista--wish someone would publish a notification on which lane & direction they're working on before you happen to get stuck

I think it's been published in The Daily Sun as well as having those electronic signs as well. Haven't driven that stretch recently but did see a flagman almost to the corner of B.V. and 466a this fore-noon...the south lane!!

:coolsmiley: Got it! It's going in the same chapter as "Shot Pouring". Some posters are getting their own chapter in the book. :read:

I will make sure you get an advance copy and a "SMALL" percentage of the profits for all the help you have given me. :beer3:

Somebody should develop an app that could tell us where all the traffic slowdowns are in real-time so we know which roads to avoid...wait, they already have. It's called Google Maps :icon_wink:

Suck it up, Buttercup. We all deal with the slight pain of having to sit in traffic. It'll be done in a day or two, and it'll be all good. And what's with the rank? No one cares.

Some people and their families need to take a chill pill.

I had to go from 466A all the way to Liberty Park on BV before being able to turn around, head south, and enter the Saint James gate. It was probably 15 minutes out of my way. Big deal if you've ever driven in a city.

Call Sumter County and ask why they chose the high season to resurface. It might be a temperature problem.

They have to spend it prior to the County's fiscal year end........it was budgeted in fiscal 2019/2020.

Also there is higher demand on road workers in a few months, so the County probably received lower bids this time of year.

I hate to be negative, but there has to be bigger issues to comment on. The traffic back up yesterday was one heck of a lot better than driving in the daytime of any big city. Besides, the crazies were confined to one lane.

Per the "Happy Newspaper" a few months ago when they announced the project ago it's because they wanted to finish the entire project (all roads inc Morse) BEFORE HURRICANE season begins on 1June'

In a rare non golf cart ride in the Villages I drove down Buena Vista Blvd. last week and couldn’t believe the county is wasting taxpayers money resurfacing the road. The section of road being resurfaced south of Lake Sumter would be considered one of the best, if not the best, road surfaces where our other home is up north. I guess when people spend enough time in Florida they get very soft and expect everything to be perfect? I have never seen any paved road in Florida that has anything that resembles a real tire/rim eating pothole. Drainage culverts are the closest thing Florida roads have to a pothole.

Does anyone know if the Morse Blvd. repaving will be done after Buena Vista is completed? There are bad areas from where the project was left off to 466A with the worst areas around Havana at Odell Circle.
