There was plenty at Publix on 466 last night.
And in a week or so the reorder supplies will be hitting the stores.
It is not as if it will not be available.

So, figuring in the costs to drive to Costco, is it really worth the effort to not drive to Publix, Winn Dixie, Walgreens, CVS, etc., etc., etc. and get your tp?
You would think Costco is giving away free drugs to the cult followers......

Really? LOL, why do you assume he's going JUST for TP and why would it be anyone's business but his?
Wait till the first case of Aye Corona hits here in TV (and it will sooner than later) and everyone goes into panic mode. You think the hurricane warnings cleans out the markets, you'll wish you went to Costco for TP. :D Start hording your "Daily Sun" because the happy news will finally be put good use. :1rotfl:

You've been here long enough now, you know what will be wiped out first in the store anytime there is any kind of disaster coming our way: beer, wine, liquor. Everything else is secondary.

Staples has toilet paper at a reasonable price. I got 2-24 roll packs. $14.99 each. They have other, higher priced as well.

I agree with some reasonable planning, but we’ve been here 8 years and have never been unable to get what we need without hoarding supplies during hurricane scares. Has that really happened here at some point prior to that? Just curious. I would think at this age we would all be a little more rational and thoughtful of our neighbors.

Water??? It’s NOT a hurricane or tornado. Nothing happening to the water supply. Toilet paper??? I don’t think diarrhea is a symptom of Corona Virus. Food? YES. Canned and frozen. Let’s not get crazy people.

Went to Publix’s at Traverse Plaza yesterday and you would have thought the end of the world is upon us! Place was a zoo. There was a shortage on tissue boxes and a note in front of them saying only 2 per purchase. There was sanitary wipes at all, no rubbing alcohol and the whole display of disinfecting hand soap was almost gone. I didn’t go there for those things but couldn’t help noticing the empty shelves. What is going on? Are you worried about this virus? It appears the panic is starting right here in TV. One more thing there was plenty of toilet paper. I bought snacks for a neighborhood social and plenty of wine!

should TP become hard to find in TV, our back up is an 8 foot rubber tree plant growing in our lanai
huge, huge leaves and plenty of them....only concern I have is that they may clog up the plumbing if they dry out....so we're stocking up on water to keep the plant alive

If only they had invented toilet tissue sooner, history could have been re-written!

I can't believe it people! This has happened so many times before, it's pitiful! "Storms are coming, better stock up" Not necessary, storms were minor. Remember the turn of the century..."Stock up on everything, the world as we know it will be coming to an end".....Nothing happened. And on, and on, and on it goes. And toilet paper! Like you could not survive without it....Wow, get a life! If I had to I would use loose leaf paper and a garden hose! Good Grief folks, get real.

According to last night's TV (television) news Publix is now putting purchasing limits on disinfecting items: Publix sets purchase limits for supplies amid coronavirus (https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2020/03/08/publix-sets-purchase-limits-for-supplies-amid-coronavirus/)

For me, I stock up on water simply because I'm on a well. It's nothing new for this event.

Have you ever tried any of the new service? Many are free or very low cost. I order TP from Amazon Prime with Subscribe & Save or I use Prime Pantry. Either way, they deliver it to my door.
Walmart & Target & probably Publix and other grocers offer ordering online so you later drive-thru pickup @ the store OR get it delivered. Even ALDI offers InstaCart delivery. It’s fantastic!

And I don’t stock up on basics out of fear. I do it everyday. Having grown up in a very rural area, wise people kept things they needed on hand. Running out of TP is an avoidable, uncomfortable inconvenience. Who wants to have an urgent “buy TP” as the top priority of their daily to-do list? Anything that I use a lot, lasts for awhile, and I don’t want to be without, I keep extras of. Yes, candy and Guinness too. But with delivery options now, I doubt anyone will not have what they need if you’re willing to wait and pay the price.

Do all you folks REALLY think that TP would be the sole reason for that trip? Oy. When we do our Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods & Mall run every 5-6 weeks I always check first if TJ's has a specific item I really like. If they don't I hold off till they get it back in and they hold it for me but I don't just go for that single item. Point is, why waste the trip if they don't have what you want.
