The order is for nightclubs and bars. Restaurants are to reduce their seating by 50%.

What I read is that he ordered night clubs and bars to close for 30 days. He did not close restaurants, but rather put some restrictions on them.

I wonder if the bar at Mallory is a bar or part of the restaurant?

There will have to be a 24 hr hotline, to instruct Villagers on how to use a microwave and turn on the stove--get ready for lots of things exploding that were stored in ovens

Yes, this panic buying has created a real hardship on those of us who cannot get out to physically shop for our food. I rely on Walmart pic-up and because of the selfish people who wouldn't go out to shop, we that relied on this service have no available food source. I did get an order in Sunday evening and pick-up was not available until Tuesday at 6PM. Now I get a message that most of order is out-of-stock. Bread, eggs, milk, crackers, Peanut butter, Boost and frozen foods I ordered....... and they have had to suspend their online shopping. So.... now what happens to those of us who had no other alternative? All this thanks to the panic buying of selfish people who have no consideration of others. And before everyone jumps on this, I do understand that Walmart could not have foreseen this and of course, would be shorted on stock . And I understand we are not the only family with limitations on how we shop..... but this service is used by thousands of young, healthy people who use it as a time saver, who could have considered going in to the store to make their purchases and not overwhelmed the online service to the point it had to shut down. I think at this point I am more concerned over the fall-out from the panic shopping than I am of actually being affected by the virus. I told my spouse we are more likely to die of starvation than the flu, lol.

as of 5pm
Bars and nightclubs must remain closed for 30 days beginning at 5 p.m.
DeSantis said he wants restaurants to stay at a 50 percent capacity limit, and keep tables 6-feet apart. He also said restaurant workers will need to undergo health screenings to ensure they can work around food.

Since the bars are part of the restaurants I doubt they will be required to close. I suspect that is for stand a lone establishments.

If you look at my older posts about Corona I may have sort of suggested that this was just media hype or a hoax and it was fully under control, just one guy from China
But in reality I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.

The Governor's order defines bars as:
"an establishment that derives more than 50% of revenue from on-premise alcohol sales."

Given the size of some of TV diners, the six foot rule between tables and customers could be a problem.

Not to mention the folks who have hoarded alcohol and alcohol prep pads making it impossible for diabetics to secure their testing supplies! Not even easy to find soap!

Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky have closed all restaurants, bars. Take out only. Volunteer lay-off first. Still takes good amount of staff to run take out.
However without alcohol, their numbers are running about 25% of total intake per day. Growlers can be filled, and dispensed.
Social Media is asking those to support businesses by online ordering, and phone calls.

If they close the pool bar at Lopez I can return to the idyllic days of swimming in an environment where one can hear the birds chirp instead of an alcohol-fueled cacophony.

I don't drive. Have been using Instacart with Publix for a year. Now with the service being overwhelmed deliveries & basic products severely limited. I tries to place an order Tuesday. I received a warning that delivery would be Friday but many basic items(bread, milk, eggs) could be out of stock. This is a real problem for me.

This will finally wake up the virus deniers in TV. This is the new normal, maintain social distancing ( 6 feet). This is no alarmist. Even Fox News has changed its tune and realize they are wrong in minimizing the virus and putting their elderly viewership At risk. Stay safe

Katie Belle's advertisement today is Piano Bar Request Night. What the ? The governor told bars and restaurants to shut down 5 PM yesterday. Is this a technicality of claiming to be a restaurant ? B.S. 1. It says Piano BAR 2. If this place isn't a nightclub please point me to one and describe the difference. What good is a social quarantine if only some play the rules and others duck under technicalities. Could be the establishment has not caught up with a published cancelation notice. If that's the case Thanks for doing your part if not shame on you.

I was on one of the Villages Facebook pages last night about 10pm and they said City Fire outside bar was packed. I looked at the LSL webcam and can only see the square but there what appeared to be two young ladies sitting on the edge of a planter having a smoke. Apparently with no entertainment at the squares the other places are still hopping.

We ate in Orlando near the airport last night. The restaurants are open but serving no alcohol. The waiter told us it was by order of the mayor. When we arrived about 5:30pm it was almost empty. By the time we left it was about half full.

Governor said all bars and niteclubs would close on Tuesday night at 5pm. Restaurants remaining open for now. City Fire claiming to be just a restaurant is not closing their inside or outside bar. wth! Governor needs to address this to save people from themselves and others!

The Gov should shut down all he beaches, the density & behavior of some of the spring breakers are a health menace--they are undoing all the quarantine efforts
Come on DeSantis--close the beaches--these kids are going to infect more people than they know--they think the virus is a joke

Government exist to save people from themselves. Otherwise people will be virus deniers and infect others. Without big government people would be smoking cigarettes in restaurants and saying it’s their constitutional right

We stopped at Piesanos for take out to support local employees. We were going to stop order go to grocery and then pick up.
The manager said there was only one table of 2 in the restaurant if we wanted to dine in. He was correct. Tables were labeled for use and non use according to guidelines. We ordered, before our bread came, other table left, table cleared, and wiped down completely along with seating.
Our pizza arrived, and 2 other couples came in. Pizza was not served to us, and box for us to pack ourselves when we finished. When we left only 3 tables were occupied with 3 people or less. Waitstaff happy to see patrons, using distance to make sure you were doing well. As we finished governor, exect order to close restaurant to take out only.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Governor Ron DeSantis has issued an Executive Order that directs all restaurants and food establishments in the state to suspend on-premise food and alcohol for consumption.
The Executive Order also requires the closures of gyms and fitness centers within the state.
State officials say, under the order, places may continue to operate their kitchens for the purpose of providing delivery or take-out services.

We went to Piesano's this past Wed. Same thing - could only use every other table for dine-in. Seated right away -food was great- and the service was careful and quick. We will sorely miss dining in - but TRULY, BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY due to this outbreak.

Just called Miller's Ale House (March 20th at 5:10pm). I was told their dining room is open for business with 50% capacity and as far as she knew, the restaurant will not be closing their dining room.
Could their dining room still be open because they are a bar/restaurant?

And to think.......the woman who answered the phone heard it first from me. Her response was that their restaurant is in Lady Lake, not The Villages. Why she thought I was in The Villages is beyond me as I never said where I lived. I informed her that this comes from the governor and is for the entire state of Florida.

I wouldn't say "worse"....we're still blessed if we're up-right and breathing! That said though...you beat me to it. ALL restaurants staying in business will be utilizing carry-out only. NO dining-in!! The governor just mandated it!
Deep breaths now...we can get through this. Might take some planning but you can do it.
