We played Escambia this morning and was told by the starter there was no water on the golf course tees and the ambassador would not have water on his cart. The water fountains at the restroom still worked.
Anyone else hear this?

Yep---same on all courses. So everyone remember to bring their own water, and you can still buy a bottle at the starter shack

I have never used a water fountain, ever since grade school when I saw a boy put his whole mouth over the fountain while he was drinking.

Truth! GolfingEagles is right! IF folks want to be updated, listen to the local radio station in the morning as they give announcements, closings and everything we need to know. Heard about the water this morning.

I believe it has something to do with social distancing.
Whatever.... I'm OK with it. Whatever they feel they need to do.

I never drink out of golf course coolers.
I think it was Golf Digest close to 20 years ago that published a report that stated close to 90% of the coolers on golf courses are contaminated in some form or fashion .
And I remember another story of a disgruntled employee putting roadkill in a water cooler on an unnamed course. I've been taking my own ever since.

Here's what's amazing to me. The Villages decided not to supply water on the golf courses, either from the ambassadors or the water coolers, instructing golfers to get bottled water at the starter shack. Then they charge 75 cents for the bottled water. Seems to me that water on a golf course in 90 degree weather (where I just paid $47.00 to play) is a necessity, ought to be provided gratis. Don't flame me, I know I can easily afford the 75 cents, but how tone deaf is that? A major large dollar business fleecing its customers 75 cents at a time.

Bring your own damn water. Is that so hard during this time? Lord knows there is plenty of room in the cart since 95% are taking a single cart. Anything to slam the developers.

+++:BigApplause: c'mon folks! let's all pitch in and do our part.
Golfed -exec- yesterday. I always bring a bottle of water and refill along the course when needed. Starter told us about no-water. I have had hydration issues this year, causing dizziness, so I drink plenty on the course. Had to ration the bottle thru the 9 holes - but next time(s) will bring a few bottles.

I always bring my own drinks on the course anyways and never take the water out of them orange coolers of theirs. I'm sure they are doing this to prevent passing on the virus.

I drink Gatorade, always have and took it Friday to Havana. My neighbor drinks water, so I gave him a heads up so he would know to take extra water. So thanks to the OP for the info.

I never drink out of golf course coolers.
We have drinked/drank/drunk? out of the golf course coolers, fixed and mobile for over 20 years in TV.
Always considered them a form of self immunisation without needles, against all water born diseases!
Never had a problem.
Stay well.

:what: You can't be serious! :boom:Please tell us all where you can buy a cold bottle of water for 75 cents or less. :1rotfl: You're fleecing yourself when it's about 12 cents a bottle by the case. I have worked on a golf course (not here) I would never use a water cooler on a course......:yuck:

:1rotfl: I'm sure you are correct but ...... there are some who think they are doing it to make another million - 75 cents at a time. :icon_wink:

I've been doing this long before this current event since I've heard some real stories about what can or may have happened with the orange water jugs here in the villages. Yuck.

:agree: And like I said in post #17 I worked on a course (not here) and I saw things other people would not believe. If collie1228 saw it she would be happy to pay 75 cents. I'm sure they do a much better job here but I don't use them on ANY course. :ho: Why would anyone?
