Why We Are Not Doing Enough To Stop the Pandemic (in Simpler Math) (https://medium.com/@Jason_Scott_Warner/why-we-are-not-doing-enough-to-stop-the-pandemic-in-simple-math-1722a5053cda)

You must go all in. It is the only way. And you must start today:
Here’s what every person in America must do for the next 20 days. You must start today, there are 6 things:
1. You must begin to shelter in place for the next 20 days.
2. You must avoid all unnecessary contact with other people, for the next 20 days. You can still go to the grocery store, or get gas or get medications. Just be smart. It’s well documented what you must do. Stay 6 feet apart. Wash your hands. You know the drill.
3. You must tell your boss that you cannot work for 20 days. Show them this post and tell them they must read and understand the information.
4. You must cancel or change your flight, even if you are away from home and even if the airline charges you for the flight. Tell the airlines and hotel to read this post. We will work out the details after 20 days.
5. You know what I am saying is true. You must convince the others. We all must convince our fellow citizens. Many will not believe, because they are scared and because the math makes it impossible to see. Just last week people called me crazy and called it hype. And because of uncertainty around money and fear they will resist and deny this truth. I have laid out everything everyone needs to understand in this post.
6. You may contract the virus. You may get sick. But you must not go to the hospital unless you get very sick.
7. If you are an influencer or know an influencer, people with large followers, you must get this message to them. People with 10s of millions of followers must help spread the message. Because of exponential math the virus continues to spread so every hour matters. Everyone must read this. If you need to speak to me first you must send me a DM on Facebook.
8. Call or email or send this post to your mayor or government official. Time is of the essence. The fastest way to implement the required measures is for government to help us both communicate, and enforce the behaviors. This a key responsibility of government, to help us through times like these when we struggle with monumental issues like the COVID pandemic.
Finally: Wuhan stopped the virus in 12 days and is returning to normal, because you cannot easily transmit the virus without person to person contact. There are no more cases in Wuhan. It took them 12 days to get to the peak, and a lot of discomfort after the peak. Many died, but we now know there is only way to defeat the virus.
I know it feels uncertain, and is scary. But I challenge you this: it is just 20 days. At the end of 20 days we all have more information and the next steps will be clearer. We may need more time after 20 days. But sheltering in place is required in order to get through this with the least amount of suffering and loss of life.
We will rebuild, like we always have, and be stronger and more united as a nation because of it. And we must come together, and help one another, because getting through this requires that we do.
Please share this post, and when you share it, tell everyone why they must read it.

Just a simple observation! A family of 12 in New Jersey had a "get together" and one had Covid-19. 3 in that group has since died, another 3 in ICU, etc. Now let's talk about grops of 10!!! Then you have groups who either disregard that limit placed by the Village Managment or think 10 is a safe number! Will not name groups who are in this category as they know who they are but just another indication of the impact of being selfish and thinking only of yourself. Rushing to over buy and get it "before your neighbor" is another example of terrible selfishness. Without this selfishness the supply side had worked fine but we can now see the selfishness at its best. God help us.:ohdear:

Post like this only lead to fear and confusion. I see nothing in the post stating any factual basis for the claim of staying in your home for 20 days. The is no reason to show this post to your employer or anyone else.

Yes, restrict your contact with others. Practice your “social distancing”. Keep a good supply of disinfectant handy. And if your are sick get medical attention.

I have not heard or read where this is an airborne virus. You can work in your yard, walk the dog, ride your bike, take a golf cart ride, talk to your neighbors, visit a take out restaurant, or go play golf.

It all comes down to using good old common sense.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

The OP is from a social site called "medium"

It starts with the following disclaimer:

"Anyone can publish on Medium per our Policies, but we don’t fact-check every story. For more info about the coronavirus, see cdc.gov."

So why post this crap in the first place? Add to panic? Frighten people?

Again, listen to the CDC and the Florida DOH, and ignore people who post garbage.

I copied this statement to mine as I so agree with Golfing Eagles with this......

From the beginning people (and media) were fear-mongers. Some people just love to sit and type and cause a reaction. I chose NOT to read most of that post and I also choose to not watch the MSM as they also just feed into the panic. We only have today (maybe only this minute), yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't promised so enjoy the moment and take a deep/deep breath. Use your common sense (if you were born with any---some apparently were not)...chill, read a book, take a walk, message your friends/family. This too shall pass........

Princeton Medical announced a week or so ago they the lighter droplets stay in the air for up to 3 hours. So yes you can be infected walking into a place that had so do who may have the virus. I would suggest going as soon as you can when stores open.

Also the virus sits on cardboard for up to 24 hours. You can find that fact easily. We put baggies on our hands get the mail and deliveries and put them in the garage for 24 hours. Don’t have perishables. Throw out the baggies. May be overkill but willing to do that and I am not in the vulnerable age group.

Do you think it is advisable to leave grocery items that are packaged in cardboard (such as crackers or cereal) in the garage for 24 hours?

What about just packing everything away with gloves on, or with bare hands and then wash/sanitize either your gloves or your hands? I threw away the cardboard using tissue to touch it.
Just don’t use the cereal anything in paper etc for 24 hours. And wash the plastic bag food comes in with soap for 20 sec.

:ohdear: Need to read the actual report. It says it CAN remain in the air and it CAN remain on surfaces not that it does. You can get hit by an asteroid, you can get struck by lightening and you can get Covid-19 from the air but you need to almost walk into the person just after they sneeze. If this were a true airborne disease it would do no good to isolate yourself as it would be all through out the air all over the world. Please do not put panic with this kind of half truth!

Medium has taken the post down, and there has been some very high level experts in the field exposing the article as "without proper context" and lacking professional background and accuracies.

Best advice is to never use an open publishing source with no fact checking as anything but an opinion.
