I think it's time for snow birds and spring breakers and visitors to head home. They are hoarding supplies to take back home. They have told me so in the grocery stores. They are sucking up our resources and possibly getting this virus and then staying here and spreading it. In normal times we would welcome these people but not this year.

Since many owners are snowflakes, birds, your mentality of telling people to leave is appalling.
Have you spoken to your children, or clergy, that may help bring you back to a not so scary thoughts

English, I agree. I don’t know where OP was coming from, but if serious, he/she couldn’t be more incorrect IMHO. Some renters will be going home in about a week and others in April and end of May. Some own and some rent but snowbirds keep taxes and amenities lower for those that are here full-time. They are just as “entitled” as any...

Wow! I had no idea that supplies are more plentiful here than up north. I think that is good news.

All I can say is thank goodness full-time residents are not hoarding.

Soo wrong, and too everyone who thinks everything circles around $$, without your health your life is worthless--I'm very fortunate financially speaking
Getting ready to sit put till the fall, as long as the liquor stores stay open we'll be fine--saving lots of $$, by not participating in my favorite pastime--which is quite expensive

Wow! You had better put in a call to the governor to see if he could ask the national guard to set up checkpoints on all the state borders and check all exiting vehicles for toilet paper, disinfecting wipes, ground beef, chicken, sour cream, canned beans and sliced bread. Then return them to all the grocery stores in and around the greater villages area. Would that be pleasing to you?

So your saying that they should head north and possibly spread the virus at rest areas, gas stations, eating establishments that might be open and then to the residents of their hometowns? Unbelievable post.

I did get a smile out of imagining seasonal residents stopping in the supermarket aisles to notify the OP that they're taking their rationed amount of items back north with them!

Ha ha! When we were snowbirds it was all we could do to fit all our suitcases, big dog, bird-in-cage, etc., in the car to go home, much less add in 50 rolls of toilet paper! That's just hilarious.

What a terrible thing to say. Sit back, take a deep breath, and just calm down. No one is stealing resources from you. Snow birds support our businesses. REMEMBER, NO STATE TAX BECAUSE OF TOURISM. now you want to run it off. Relax!

well now we know that only snowbirds use toilet paper and have covid. i think they should have the letters "C" & "T" put on their clothes
i thought the Villages was a 55+ community, not 12 year olds

I had to come home to Canada prepared to do a mandatory 14 day quarantine and wasn't allowed to go to any stores. When I tried to get food delivered, not a single store was answering my calls. Let's all be understanding of each other in these tough times.

Good heavens! Read your comments back to yourself once the pandemic is a memory and then realize how others perceive you have written. Are you related to Chicken Little?

Very intelligent theory.NOT. My wife and I have been snowbirds (owners) for 15 years. For you to call us "these people" is ridiculous. Just think if all "these people" decided to be here full time instead of 3-6 months. What would your complaint be then?

Raymar was a lot more direct than I.
The OP's post is silly and trying to get a reaction.
I posted it was "fishy" and the post was deleted.

How big was your sample size? Why are snowbirds more likely to get the virus than permanent residents? I have gone home as have others I know and all of us did no hoarding. Your capability for critical thought seems to be severely lacking, bassfish.

Maybe you should go somewhere else !! You appear to be very rude not so friendly like the Villages are supposed to be !! I find your statement insulting

Another opinion. Snowbirds, my fellow Americans, you are welcome in my community. Period. Come and go as you please. After all, you are Americans! And the OP is simply a troll who gets off on stirring the pot.

I am loving the piling on to the original poster! Some very clever people out there with good senses of humor. More humor please - less panic!
Talk about mis information! ....
Everyone is freaking out. That's a given. How about a little empathy since everyone on Earth is in the same boat! No one wants anybody else to get sick or not be able to wipe their butt! I literally have given away five rolls of toilet paper in the last week and I am a snowbird! I can only assume the original poster is a very selfish person who lives in their own little bubble within THE bubble. The danger is, if the world had that opinion, we would be in much bigger trouble!
This is time to unite and come together as a globe. (And by unite I mean staying 6 feet apart, and wave at each other, and smile, and throw rolls of toilet paper back and forth.)
Good luck to us all.
And I mean ALL!
That's my two cents, it's worth what you paid for it...

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard. Snow birds will hardly be making an impact on the national supply chain of goods, anymore than year round residents. What happened to a nation sticking together and no man left behind! I am ashamed at the selfishness of this quote. I really hope there isn’t a day that those of us in The Villages will need help from some one outside that you pushed out. Good luck on your own.

And while we are at it, let's just label all hoarders with a big scarlet "H". *dripping with sarcasm*
Sheesh! More and more TV reminds me of that tv show about the dome. Bubble indeed!

Take it easy
Show some love. Sometimes people say things without thinking first.
I have snow bird friends and I hope they stay.
I love and miss them when they go and look Forward to there return.

WOW - really?
You DO realize many of the resources wouldn't be available if it weren't for the people that are paying at least double for the amenities (we pay taxes and amenity fees for all 12 months) that exist?
We payed the same bond, and full time residenohave beenong time beneficiaries of that "generosity".
Let's be kind and helpful, use only what we need and care for those who need our help.

If they are not welcome now then they should keep that in mind for next year. They are all currently leaving and the April people are not coming down. Watch your property values go down if that’s the way the friendliest town in the USA is going to treat people who drove your economy the past years.
