Is the Promise Hospital ever going to open? Construction update states it is waiting final approval since last summer. I tried researching Promise Healthcare on the Internet and it appears their website is no longer up.

I've heard it's being shopped around for a buyer --- along with two other Promise facilities.

I am not familiar with Promise. I suspect it is a healthcare system.

I think that the three gentleman that run this show won't allow links to link.
Yesterday I tried to copy and paste and that didn't work.

We allow links. There's no problem with that. Links to any Villages site is blocked by the Villages. They don't want TOTV members to think that they can access Villages information from here. (We think that's a little paranoid.) We're just trying to be good neighbors.

I got it to work, Gracie. Actually it was a 2008 story about the building of the new facility. Try typing in http:// before the words in the link and it should work for your computer. I don't need to type them in for some reason, I just cut and pasted the link and it worked.

I heard through the grapevine about four months ago that they were having problems getting staff. The pay was too low for the nurses, etc that they were trying to get.
But then, my grapevine was a guy I was golfing with who had recently stayed at a Holiday Inn.:a20:

Promise Hospital's opening has been delayed due to some internal modifications being requested by the State. In addition, to obtain a pharmacy license the application must be processed through Home Security. Once all of the licenses are in place the staff will be hired, trained and hospital opened.

From what I know, Promise is what we refer to as an LTAC, which means long term acute care facility. As a case manager, we transfer pt's from an acute care hospital setting to a LTAC to continue acute care and combine with a rehab setting. It's great way for acute hospitals to decrease their LOS. Working at TVRH in the past, one problem w transferring pt's to an LTAC was that they were so far away. Now TV has one locally, or I hope so.
