Interesting, in the article it uses an example, what if you’re a handyman and fixes dishwashers and air conditioners.
Should have read, if you are a handyman and fixes air conditioners, you are committing a 3rd degree felony in Florida.

Police, fire, EMT, stores that sell food
Up here, NH all restaurants can be open for food to go only
that's about it
all state liquor stores, of course
we have been on this footing for a few weeks

to every business owner their business is essential … think about it
times have changed...we're all hunkering down to stay safe
I know that you're trying to help the uninformed...but I say force them to think this through themselves
I'm sure every 2nd grade teacher said to all of us more than once "put your thinking cap on and think about it"
it's the laziness and the apathy of a small minority about dealing with Covid-19 that is disturbing to many of us
okay...my rant is over....again thanks for sharing

Here is the executive order for Stay at Home. At the end is a list of essential businesses.

From what I read, if I understand correctly, the new order is identical to what it was before except it now says it is ok to do everything you did before including golf, Tennis?, Pickle ball?
All recreational, excuse me, exercise is ok as long as you keep your 6' distance. List of essential businesses basically includes everything, beaches are ok.
There really is no stay at home order, am I correct?

"What businesses are considered essential?"
That's easy. Any business that I need for something essential. Food, liquor, fun times. :)

If places of worship are essential then why not the bars be open?

Great Point Skunk! Bring the Bible to the bar or BYOB to the pew. I'm in either way but I would need to get a bible first. Are the bookstores open?

I totally agree on the churches, wth are they thinking? Also in full agreement with your assessment of DeSantis/Trump relationship.

Both should be closed because there is no 6ft separation. All people need to stay at home especially people over 50 years old.

Okay, so Shooters' World remains open.
But very difficult to maintain six feet of separation, especially at a crowded range.
I won't be going back anytime soon.

No you are wrong. We are all in this fight against a really bad virus. Stop with the childish behavior.

I know at least one person who thinks that is more essential than Publix.

What happened with that pastor in Tampa who was arrested last week for holding services? I can’t find anything about it.

Here's an interesting one. I have trouble walking because a bad foot injury sustained years ago. The only exercise that I get is by riding my bicycle. I was experiencing some breathing problems recently and my doc put me on some new medications that have improved my breathing and have allowed me to ride my bike again.
I started riding every day and have been feeling much better. It is really the only time that I would get out in the fresh air and sunshine and get some exercise.
Alas, last week I began noticing a problem with my bike and brought it to a repair shop. They diagnosed the problem and I made an appointment for this morning. When I went to drop off the bike I found that they are closed.
So now I'm stuck at home with very few options for outdoor exercise which my doctor says is the best thing I can do for my heart condition.
The problem with the bike has gotten worse over the past week and it is now almost unrideable. The repair shop also said that if I let the problem go too long, it would be impossible to repair.
So how is it not essential that I get my bike repaired?

They simply have to close every other lane.

Yes, and they've probably done that. The problem I saw is at the entrance where all kinds of people were zipping in and out, cutting corners etc trying to buy ammo, check out the new guns and going to the chekcstand. The separation was like playing slow-mo dodge-ball

Based on what I read in another thread, Key Lime pies are essential.

FYI, the Ace Hardware store in Southern Trace is "temporarily" closed out of concern for its staff, but will still be fulfilling online orders. I believe the Wildwood and Belleview locations owned by the same family are also closed.

Governor DeSantis has way better judgement than Charlie Baker, the Governor of Massachusetts. When Baker ordered all non-essential business be shut down, he specifically classified GOLF as non-essential. I am now officially not proud to say our Northern home is in Massachusetts. Now both of my addictions are going unfulfilled. The YMCA is closed, so no lap swimming, and the golf courses are also closed. I am really starting to panic now. The courses even pulled all the flags and filled the holes to keep people from sneaking onto the courses. Looks like a road trip to Vermont is in order for next week to get in a round.

Golf has never been labeled an essential business. It has been deemed an acceptable form of recreation. Swimming has also been deemed an acceptable form of recreation. Different locales have implemented additional restrictions if warranted.

Why would you want someone to come into your home, breathe/sneeze/cough all over your stuff, touch everything...knowing he/she has been cleaning other people’s homes? Sounds waaayyy more risky than golf.
