I just received my first home delivery from Publix.
Every item was in my order and was surprised they found chicken.
Whenever the shopper couldn’t find a certain item she would text me an alternative.
The communication was terrific and I knew exactly when she was due at my house.
My husband took the bags into the garage and Lysol wiped them before bringing in the house.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Well I also did Instacart from Publix 2 times. First one...great. Just like what u posted. Second delivery...not. The girl put bags on my front porch so close the my door that I couldn’t open it without knocking over the bags. The entire order was someone else’s. Good thing I was there. It was not a good experience.

My only experience was the shopper voided 5 items. Didn't offer alternatives. Got lost trying to find me in Marsh Bend

Used once so far. The shopper stayed in constant contact if something was unavailable. The funny thing was, there was a picture of bananas on the order form. I ordered one. And that's what I got -one banana. We are still laughing over that.
I recommend them.

I might try them. I've been trying for two days to schedule a pickup time from neighborhood Walmart. No doubt they are overworked and understaffed.

We also had a good experience with ALDI. Great communication and all in stock except heavy cream. Only minor problem was one produce item that had an expration date a week earlier. I view this as the store's fault more than the shopper. Overall, very pleased.

What is the added cost of Instacart? I don't know much about it but I see it as our future.

How much does it cost to us this service? Is it based on how big your order is? Should you tip them?

I haven't used it yet but plan to for my next order. On the app it says delivery charge is $3.99 per delivery, or $9.99 per month for unlimited deliveries, or $99.00 a year for unlimited deliveries.

Plus 5% service plus 5% tip (automatically charged). Plus higher base prices at Publix and Sam's Club. Also, delivery is 8.99 from Sam's, NOT 3.99.

Someone said a tip is added to the cost. Is that true with Publix? If not how much to tip?
I checked the prices and I know they are higher for delivery. Also the 3.99 delivery cost is waived if over some relatively small amount ($30?).

I recently tried the Publix delivery service and it tuned out to be a disaster. They substituted 11 out of 15 items ordered. When they did a substitute item they didn't change the price of the new item they kept the old which in every case was higher than the sub. To top it all off they charged me $53.00 for a package of chicken that weighed 1 pound. I have tried for one week to contact Instacart customer service which has never responded. This is bad news for Publix which has been my favorite grocery store for nine years.

We had a delivery from Publix as well. Seemed all good until I looked at the labels on the pork I ordered. I was charged more that what the label on the meat said. So, beware of that. I do not know how this happened but will try to find out how or why and post that. Also, I joined Instacart Express for the unlimited deliveries. Also have gotten deliveries from Fresh Market that were great.

I signed up for Publix delivery with Instacart. I haven't order anything as of yet. The problem I am encountering is when I research a recipe on line Publix's ads pop up throughout the recipe. As an example if the recipe calls for water I get a blurb about flavored water from Publix and the price. Frustrating to say the least.

We just did an Insta-cart order with Fresh Market last night (made up the order, that is) Because it was our 1st time...the delivery charge was "free". At the end, it said we'd saved $2.00---I'm not sure where that came from but wondered if that was the delivery. Anyway, we ordered our meat and some various other items that I only get there. The tip was included. The delivery time-frame (because of the busy-ness of everyone) was given as Tuesday-Thursday. BUT since we're home in self-quaranteen, this isn't an issue. We'd never done this before so we'll see how it goes. I've tried to log on to the Walmart site but apparently I did something wrong along the way. It wouldn't recognize my logon information, which is puzzling since I've ordered non-grocery items from them in the past. EVERYONE I know that's doing this way of shopping says it's great! So good luck!

let's remember that the modest tip that is included is very small....the folks that are performing this service aren't making much money.... let's be generous with these folks, they are taking a huge risk for us AND they are willing to work

I don’t use Instacart —I order directly from Publix online I’ve seen that on their page, but couldn’t get it to work for the Publix stores here. Pick-up was available, but not here, at least last time I looked. I use SHIPT most of the time, they deliver for Winn-Dixie as well as Publix. Today’s order is through Instacart from Publix and is scheduled for delivery tonight. Last order had an error, but now with all that’s going on, I click on Do Not Substitute because, well, just because who knows what you’ll get....lol.

Unless you are buying only deli items, how are you ordering online without using Instacart. Not to mention curbside pick-up is not available in this area.

We used Winn Dixie. 14.00 a month and you can stop anytime. These people are doing you a service, of course you tip them. They are out of work, not WD employees. We did not give a percentage as a tip we just gave a nice tip to help her out. She was very thankful.

Instacart delivered our Publix orders,We add a $10.00 tip each time. One time it was delivered by a elderly couple that said they live in TV....kind of risky for that age groupe...
We were pleasantly surprised with some of the substitute items ( with our ok) that we chose, items we most likely would not of tried and were very good.

We placed an order a couple days ago with Publix for delivery by Instacart. We downloaded the Publix app and our shopper offered alternatives as he shopped. We did receive one replacement that we have never tried, hubby is looking forward to that. There were a couple of items not available. Meat was plentiful and fulfilled. I was surprised at that. He called as he was on his way for delivery. He placed all bags in our garage. We added to his meager tip that was automatically applied. Of course having someone else do your grocery shopping is going to add an uncharge to each item, but not much. All in all a great experience. We also wiped down all items before bringing them into our home. Would definitely place another order and with any luck get our same shopper. He was very good, polite, respectful and friendly.

We got our order at 9:30 this morning --- exactly within the hour window they gave me!
We ordered from Shipt. The delivery gentleman was terrific and for any item that I had put in the order that wasn't available....he would text me from Publix and ask if I'd like to substitute and told me what the selection was.
Even my deli order was exactly what I wanted and had it cut the way I had asked!!
I agree with tipping. I left him a tip and a "homemade" bandana mask!
I originally called Publix last week as their website wouldn't let me order directly online from them. They suggested Shipt and Instacart.
Right now pick up from Publix in and close to The Villages is not available.
Would definitely use this service from here on out!

Tried the delivery to our home it was great, we increased a tip for the delivery people
But one issue we had, we ordered beer, they wanted to take a pic of my license, meaning having contact within 6 feet, we asked thru the door to take it back and avoid such contact.
Now we have no beer:faint:
Oh well vodka works with many things:1rotfl:
Overall great experience

It is better to tip cash , the drivers depend on tips to make driving worth doing. If you tip online , your tip is taxed and shared.

I went on Shipt last weekend to place a large order with Winn-Dixie. They said No Delivery Time Available, Check Back Later. I checked back for three days, and still no delivery time. I went to Shipt's contact form and cancelled my subscription. There was supposed to be a way to "pay as you go" rather than paying a subscription fee. Once you sign up for an account, though, you don't see that feature anymore. At least, I didn't.
We ended up going to the store, where I watched a woman handle 6 or 7 tomatoes with her bare hands and then put them back down. My husband saw a man doing the same thing with another produce. Either selfish, ignorant, or arrogant, I don't know.
I'm only buying pre-packaged items from now on.

We had the same excellent experience with Publix Instacart. The produce delivered was wonderfully fresh and the shopper kept in constant contact with us while he shopped. The whole order arrived in just over one hour - amazing! We will definitely use this service again.

I watched a guy in the neighborhood Walmart pick up a cantaloupe and bring it right up to his nose. Literally touching his nostrils and then put it back and walk away. I wanted to yell at him but I just walked away

Instacart tips are not shared. The whole tip goes to the driver. It says that in the Instacart order form. I also checked with the driver for my delivery and he said that he gets the whole tip.
You can put the tip on your charge card when you order so no money is passed to the driver. If you end up feeling your driver didn't deserve the tip you gave them, or deserved more, you can change it after the delivery.

I’m paying $9.99/month and you can cancel it at any time.
If your order is over $35 delivery is free.
I put a $10 tip with my order.
Then I kept adding things to my cart and realized that $10 was not enough.
So I put an additional tip ( cash ) in an envelope on my door with a note.
The shopper is also the delivery person. I must have gotten very lucky because she was fabulous.
I will say this though, they do mark up the price of each item so beware.
I’m high risk so I am willing to do what I have to to stay out of the store.

Had trouble with that as well. They release the next times for pickup at 12:01 AM so set your alarm and log in a couple of minutes prior. When 12:01 AM hits select the select times key and you will be presented with available pickup times for the day after the day you are logged into. So I logged in at 12:01 AM on 4/7 and got a pickup time for 4/8 to select from. You might give that a try.

how they order you just call them ? can you let me know?
If you are ordering groceries from Publix, you will have those items shipped via Instacart. It's a matter of creating an account, selecting your items, then choosing from the available delivery dates. Curbside pick-up is not an option in The Villages, only delivery.
The people referring to downloading the App and/or ordering online through Publix, are referring to ordering prepared foods; as well as certain deli items such as subs, meats, cheeses, platters, etc. For example, you cannot order a bag of potatoes, a loaf of bread, tomatoes, etc.,
Hope this helps.

Since these people are putting their health at risk so you don't have put yours at risk, they should be very well tipped. When you order, there are tip options. I go for 20%. I've used it twice with no problems. The service charge is a few dollars. I don't know how it's determined, but well worth it to me.

Amen to that! We have used them four times and they have been very professional. Shopper/delivery person checks each time you are faced with finding what you want is not available (you can indicate what substitutes you approve of, when you are filling out the online list) and notifies you when they are leaving and when they arrive, they will put bags on porch and you need do nothing, unless you need to provide an id when you get liquor. Very smooth, easy to use and very communicative. (Tip: we bring in from porch in batches, sanitizing each item before putting it away. Takes about a half hour.....out of our busy schedule reading, scanning internet, playing Skipbo or Racko, or watching movies on tv....) HIGHLY recommend.

Plus 5% service plus 5% tip (automatically charged). Plus higher base prices at Publix and Sam's Club. Also, delivery is 8.99 from Sam's, NOT 3.99.
I have the $9.99/month Instacart Express service (unlimited deliveries) and chose to give the person a 15% tip. I have used it 2 times this month. Once at Sam's and once at Publix. Without the Express there is a $8.99 delivery fee at Sam's and $3.99 at Publix.
This is my Sam's total for 3 items. Including TP ($21.58), Paper towels ($21.58) and Gatorade Zero ($16.18).
Items Subtotal $59.34
Sales Tax $4.15
Tip $8.90
Service Fee $1.13
Total $73.52
At Publix I ordered numerous items. Ranging in price from $1.15 to $15.50 here are the totals.
Items Subtotal $85.90
Sales Tax $1.86
Tip $12.88
Service Fee $4.30
Total $104.94
