Notify the sheriff of what exactly? That an owner is doing work on another home he owns? I understand your concern. Just distance yourself.

My wife and I left The Villages for our home in Ohio on February 23rd. Planning to return 2 to 3 weeks later, obviously that did not happen. We are still here and would not travel during this time for all the obvious reasons.
If this is ever going to end people need to respect the policies we are being requested to follow.

NJ and New York should NOT be allowed to come here to Florida. In fact they should just stay put. The Governor has already issued an order for them to be quarantined for fourteen days.

Call the sheriff and say WHAT?????
A person from a hot spot in NJ who owns and rents a home in TV, may or may not be coming down here, he may or may not be carrying the virus, he may or may not self-quarantine when and if he gets here??
If concerned, just make sure your phone camera is working. I would avoid him, lest he gets too close to you. Stay safe, CB

Here’s a thought: perhaps you and neighbors welcome him upon arrival (keeping distance, of course) and tell him that since he’s quarantined for 14 days, you’d be happy to run shopping errands, etc., for him. It would be a kind gesture and would put him on alert wrt the quarantine.

Sounds like a good reason to get out of the hot spot. As you can read here this is acceptable by some who justify breaking the rules for selfish reasons. I bet if this person's home that needs maintenance was in a hot spot he say let it rot to the ground. Traveling restrictions do not give anyone a pass to do maintenance on a home that you own remotely. I have rentals in 4 states to include tv and south florida. If the home is occupied and in disrepair he needs to contact a local repair person.

Let he who is without sin....cast the first stone.
For those who want to report a car with NY/NJ tags or otherwise point to them to say infected person, I would ask the person who wishes to report that incident if they themselves have been absolutely religious in their adherance to social distancing. That includes talking with a neighbor without a face mask, driving a cart without a face mask, shopping for groceries without wearing a face mask and never coming closer then 6 feet to another shopper or cashier, failing to wash their hands whenever they touch anything, failing to sanitize their phone and remote control regularly.

This is a little different because he’s from a state our Gov. has restricted travel from. Anyone coming here from NJ, NY, or Con. is supposed to self quarantine for 14 days. This is something that has never happened before. It is much, much, more dangerous to people who are over 65 which is MOST of us here in The Villages. It is important to stay away from others, stay home, as you said. I don't think Chatbrat should call the sheriff. BUT the Governor did issue a warning to anyone traveling from New York and New Jersey where many, many, many people have contracted the disease. They showed pictures on television of people arriving from those places being met by officials telling them to self quarantine. I have dear friends who are from New Jersey and New York but now is not the time to leave. No one knows who has the bug and who doesn't. I don't think Chatbrat should have ratted where he lives and what he drives, but I would sear the ears of that young man if he were my nephew. Chatbrat's wife has a mouth. This is not a time to travel. He is far from the only one. We need to redouble our own efforts to do what we can to not catch it or give it to others. Please don't jump on me. Just to reinforce what you have said, there are lots of "hot spots." Why just single out NJ or NY? Surprising COVID-19 hot spots: Why coronavirus still threatens rural areas - ABC News (https://abcnews.go.com/Health/surprising-covid-19-hot-spots-coronavirus-threatens-rural/story?id=69940146)

When he called me and told me 10 years ago he now had a million in the bank, it became my business, and his Jersey house is also worth a million, why he has to come here & tinker with a 200K patio villa doesn't make sense

Sorry dear but his first million has absolutely nothing to do with you. And his subsequent wealth are not your business either. Just stay home like you’re supposed to anyway and give it up already. At this point he has the right to sue you for publishing his personal information. Who in the world do you really think you are?
