This forum: Whining and complaining about everything! Always finding something wrong, they did this, he did that.
Yes, I know this poster is guilty, because I posted a complaint. Yes, I know I can leave the forum anytime.
But just an observation....
So, let's come up with some hypotheses.

I think everyone’s nerves are frayed with the current situation. Many (me included) are lashing out a little more than they normally would. Whining and complaining are human nature when frustrated. This too shall pass.

Think you have a winning forum here, no lack of posters.

I see a lot more know-it-all's then whiners and complainers. That's just my observation.

The complaining isn't just on here; its everywhere. We moved a lot when I was a kid, and every neighborhood I lived in had its "Old Crank". God forbid you walked in their yard to get a ball or frisbee, or if you and your friends made too much noise playing outside. I used to think their attitude was byproduct of old age. It isn't. Those people were always complainers and whiners. Reading some of the posts on TOTV reminds me of grade school. The tattle-tales, the bullies, the conformists, the rebels...you name it, they're all living here now. It's sad when you think about it. We've lived 60 years or more, and so many of us still haven't learned to find joy in living or in each other.

Most messages boards are programmed to block profanity, it will appear as ********
I would add this phrase to that list of blocked words
"Back home we did it this way"
That would cut down a great may complaints because you no longer live there.

Speaking of complaining, a couple I knew lived in TV and all they did was complain about this and that and missing the ocean where they lived before. They finally moved back to the ocean in a high rise condo. Two years later I saw them down the square. What are you doing here? They moved back to TV, because they couldn't stand the condo. Every day was the same. Get up, walk on the beach, sit on the terrace, look a each other in the small condo, and listen to the party noise from kids who were using their parents condo. He said 3 weeks walking on the beach, and I was bored stiff. He said he will never complain about TV again.

People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. Abraham Lincoln
I can understand people who don't feel well to be more cranky than usual but I don't believe they have a right to inflict pain onto others. IMHO
Beside, "I don't let rent space in my head"

I would add this to the blocked words if I could: "You can't fix stupid." It has to be the most overused cliche' on forums. It's become the Freebird of forums. You'll recall in the '80s and '90s (and still sometimes now), you couldn't go to a concert without someone trying to be funny by yelling out that title. It got old real quick.
And besides, I believe you *can* fix stupid.

A trait of public boards.:highfive:
Another board I'm on has a topic for annoyances and one for happy thoughts. Which do you think has 5% the number of posts as the other?
Venting about small irritations can be cathartic, and the majority of people are kind and considerate in person.
(But let's not even get started on Reddit, 4chan, etc.)
