Yesterday morn +/- 7am dark, I was in my cart traveling east on St Charles. See large white spotlight approaching from behind at illegal speed . In rear mirror could not discern whether vehicle was in diamond lane or car lane. At Bailey pulled into left turn lane and trailing vehicle slipped in behind and white light became police car blue. also band of blue and red lights. Made me nervous and as I turned the corner he slipped by me onto Bailey. I loudly voiced me disdain for his lights and driving actions. He stopped in mid street abruptly in front of me forcing a sharp turn into on coming lane to avoid rear ender. I screamed to him about his sanity and use of Blue light. He did not reply but fell behind again with only headlights and gradually proceeded much more slowly. If anyone know this guy I would like to have a PM with his name. I have researched Florida Law and find that blue lights are prohibited on motor vehicles other than police vehicles. Obviously this guy is an LEO wannabee. For ID , he was carrying a UK Golf Bag and cart had large Trump sign in windshield . Saw him pull into Heron / Pelican area . Sure would like to know his name as I'm sure that the local police would have something to say about his lighting scheme .

I have researched Florida Law and find that blue lights are prohibited on motor vehicles other than police vehicles.

As are red lights and red & white:

(1) A person may not drive or move or cause to be moved any vehicle or equipment upon any highway within this state with any lamp or device thereon showing or displaying a red, red and white, or blue light visible from directly in front thereof except for certain vehicles provided in this section.

The only question is what is the term "highway" legally mean in Florida? Does it include diamond lanes? In same states it does and some not but I can't find a Florida specific definition. And yes, even a golf cart is considered a "vehicle" in Florida.

I'd contact the sheriff and maybe they could do a random drive through your neighborhood at night. I'm not sure I'd confront a person (especially at night) as you never know if they're carrying a fire-arm or what their mental health is (or drinking). If you belong to a neighborhood site...post on there as well (or have someone else do it if you want anonymity).
