We are going to adopt a rescue dog that will require grooming. Would appreciate getting some references of good dog groomers and why you like them. Thanks.

Samantha at Woofgang Bakery in Brown wood grooms my Havanese. He can be fussy and she is very patient. He looks great every time he is groomed.

Another vote for Samantha at Woofgang's in Brownwood. My pooch absolutely loves going there to be groomed by Sam.

Samantha does our elderly golden who has degenerative mylopathy, is weak in the back end, and can't stand for very long. I could not groom him myself as comfortably for him. She gives him lots of breaks and makes sure the hair between his pads is very short so he won't slip too much when walking. She figured most of this out herself, so I think she has a lot of experience with dogs and their quirks. Plus Woofgang's are the only groomers I have found down here who do a great job on a big dog. I highly recommend Woof Gang in Brownwood.
Also there is a groomer at the other Woof Gang location further north (sort of behind Bonefish, in a shopping center parallel to CR 101) who is excellent. I wish I could remember her name. She used to be at Brownwood, but when Woof Gang bought the Paws place up there, she moved up.
The other nice thing about Woof Gang is that they are a pet food store as well, and as such are considered essential and so are open through the covid shutdown.

Stephanie R. at PetSmart on Wedgewood Lane. Riley just loves her, but is scared about all the grooming sounds. She takes her time with him and gets lots of kisses in return.

We have a great groomer, she is on 301 in Oxford just south of 466 Katrina (Dogs and Suds) 748-7837. after moving here 4 years ago, we noticed that our groomer on 441 in the villages was muzzling our 17 year old small dog that has never bit anyone in fact he loves his bath time. We found Katrina and she does not muzzle, she takes her time, does a great job, and reasonable. Max (Our dog) goes there for his spa day. I highly recommend her and you will too.

I checked out Wolfgang for grooming for my dog and found them to be ridiculously expensive. Almost twice what I pay up North. Glad to see other options in this thread, I’ll have to check them out. Thanks for the post.

I saw in your post that you have a Havenese. Could I ask where you got him? I would love to be able to get a rescue pup but because of asthma and other lung issues I need a hypoallergenic dog. And I understand Havenese are hypoallergenic and don’t smell. I can’t even walk into a kennel/humane society without having an asthma attack. Lucky you to have a Havenese. Thank you.

We have used Lady Lake Professional Groomers for the past 6 years. They are on 441 south of 466 in a little plaza on the right (if going south) Just went this morning and they have curb side service. You pull up, call in and they come to the car to fetch your pooch. Do the grooming and then bring your bathed and groomed dog back out to your car. All payment is handled without you getting out of the car.

Not my question, but there is a reputable Havanese breeder very near in Summerfield called "Honor Havanese". You have to be careful because Havanese have become very popular, thus are being bred in puppy mills. I can't recommend that breed of dog enough! They are sturdy, happy little small dogs. Good luck in your search.
There are a couple of Havanese rescue groups......HALO (Havanese Angel League Organization) and Havanese Rescue, Inc.
