Ben Cartwright from Bonanza, actually raised 3 sons from 3 different wives (each wife died when each son were very young) The series had our whole family watching, and Ben was such a wise man........

In my opinion he was about the worst.Don't know what happened to his wife but he created a lot of widows with that rifle. Every time there was trouble in town he restored law and order by smokin' all the trouble makers. The worst part of that was that the kid was with him and witnessed all the killing. That kid did not get a good nights sleep since he first witnessed his father kill off all the bad guys who threatened the old sheriff. Mrs Rifleman probably left him in time and should have taken the kid with her.If there was a child protection services at the time the kid would be in foster care as we speak.
I think the kid is a stone drunk hanging around the saloon and wishing that he was raised by Ozzie Nelson, or Fred McMurray.

Well, if the dad that made my dad laugh the hardest matters...Jed Clampett.

Jethro pulled up to the mansion in a pickup truck with a bunch of canines in the back. Jed looked long and hard and finally said...

“Welllllll dogies.”

I thought Dad was gonna bust a gut!! And if you knew Dad’s strong-silent-type nature, you could hardly believe it! :)

That's certainly a different (but not necessarily wrong)...take on it. :1rotfl:

Since it's TV and make believe anyway...my vote goes to Homer Simpson.
