It's the grassy area between the north and southbound lanes of the Turnpike.

Bashing? Really? How about just pointing out the idiocracy of someone travelling south of 44 in search of a non-existent golf course.

You need to aim further left, whenever I do that for some strange reason that is when I hit a rare straight shot. Go figure.

It is supposed to be just north of the Okahumka Service Area (Rest Stop) along the Florida Turnpike East of Warm Springs Ave.

Good luck trying to find it. Was told that it would be completed by the end of 2019 and now it looks like a couple of years down the road.

One 18 hole Championship Course and no additional Executive Courses in the works. Move houses, less golf, makes sense.

To stop the slice, move your right hand to the right, flex your left knee a bit more, relax your glutes totally, inhale in the back swing (after you have slowed it down of course), and exhale on the down swing. Now, be certain to accelerate just prior to striking the ball, or in your mind acceletate after hitting the ball, and oh yea, look at the ball with your left eye only. Regardless of what happens after all of the alterations, drink beer.

I'm still wondering how people south of the Turnpike will get golf cart access to this future championship course. Go all the way up through Brownwood and back around???? Another future bridge over the turnpike? Unfortunately, golf is a declining sport and the new developments seem to reflect that trend.

We're keeping the location a secret so the folks up north don't take all of the tee times. It's an amazing course! Play it every chance I get.

If you are going south on Morris/Warm Springs, it is right on the south side of the big church. It is under construction.

It will enable vehicles and golf carts to cross.

The existing cattle bridge just south of the plaza is planned to be converted to cart use.

" The second Turnpike bridge will be built a few miles to the south near the Okahumpka Service Plaza. This pathway will connect both golf cart and vehicle traffic to future areas, including land recently acquired in Leesburg."

Life in The Villages (https://www.thevillages.com/life/connectivity-plan-adds-second-turnpike-bridge/)

This would also give the new Villages north of the turnpike access to amenities to the south.

History has not repeated itself. The first new homes for sale south of 466A were model homes on Braddy Ct. in Sanibel in August 2011. Bonifay CC courses Ft. Walton and Destin opened two months later in October and Pensacola opened nine months later due to delays caused by a flood.

Cars and carts, why wouldn’t that be an OVERPASS? Bridges like the ones already here make no sense to me. It would have to be a pretty substantial bridge to put cars on it. Who’s designing it? Someone impressive I hope

YOU ASKED A GOOD QUESTION. MANY OTHERS HAVE ASKED THE SAME THING ABOUT MANY THINGS SOUTH OF 44. It is obvious that The Villages has two different models of lifestyle. Did someone die and someone else take over????

The Villages is getting ahead of the curve planning for future generations of retirees. Fewer golf courses and restaurants to leave room for safe spaces and tattoo parlors.

Maybe Disc Golf? Never tried it, but seems to be very popular with the younger crowd. Plenty of videos on YouTube. Looks interesting. Natural environment and very low maintenence.

Developer has a handle on exactly what new buyers want. Have you noticed only 2 of the 9s are open on champions now. Tons of tee times, since January. We have been coming since 07, and have never seen the championship this slow. The draw south is the bike, running, walking trails with out a golf cart trying to pass you. Our children is the next generation buying here. They rarely play golf, but are very happy with the green space, and said definitely buying in the new area. They are 30 to 40 already looking to buy here.

No brainer It's here in " The Villages " south of CR44.

Plenty of videos to view. You will be able to play so just relax while the planners sort out the " New " golf course.

You will have many opportunities to play many, but please, please trust us....please.

Thank you. I saw that a while ago. Not to drift too far from the subject but I’m just curious why it’s projected as a 18 hole course when the last 10 Championship Courses built have been 27 holes. Any thoughts? Maybe it’s just the amount of land that’s available or maybe there is another reason. It is thought by some the amount of available property had something to do with why 18 holes became the golf course standard in Scotland years ago. A more sinister theory (why 18 holes) is that it took that many holes for a foursome to drink a bottle of Scotch as they strolled the coastal sand dunes commonly referred to as the links.

Good question, I don’t have the answer, except that it definitely is no because of a lack of land. It has become very apparent that golf is no longer nearly as important as walking trails under the new generation of the Villages developers family. Go figure? At least our home, which is near lots of Championship Golf, should retain its value as long as Golf remains important to retirees.

Easy answer: You can build a lot more houses to sell on that land instead of that extra 9 holes.
