If we don't hear from the governor before then it must be he has let his people go starting May 1st ?!?

His so called committee charged with coming up with a plan was to get back to him last Friday.

The only change made so far is to allow some beaches to open......first things first. There are a lot of small businesses waiting to hear what the opening plan is as it affects them.

I guess it is only the 28th so we shouldn't rush him!

It will be interesting to see how many believe that because the order is lifted or modified it will be safe to resume normalcy and will then complain because some business owners slow role reopening.

My feeling about May 1st is what has changed?
It’s still not safe for me to be out and about.
I plan on just staying the course.

Think for yourself. If you do not feel it is safe to be out and about, I bet no one will force you to leave your home. Just my guess.

The gov. makes suggestions. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong. Why do so many rely on the gov or someone else to make decisions for them? Make your own decisions. You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.
The Japanese have been wearing face masks in public for decades. They are very crowded, therefore they bath and wear masks so as to not be offensive to all those in close proximity to them when they are out and about. If you feel frightened that you might catch the flu or virus when you are out and about, then wear your mask.

I am amazed at the number of people that do not realize this virus cannot be avoided forever! You can keep yourself locked away for another week or two weeks or a month or whatever, but eventually you’re going to go out. You can’t wear a mask and gloves forever. Staying in the house just delays the reality that you will be exposed to this virus just as with many other viruses or bacterias. Heard a doctor say yesterday that until we reach herd immunity this will not start to fizzle out. That can’t happen if people stay locked away. I am 70 years old and I’m ready to get back out there and start living my villages life again.

Remember SARS? A lot of us didn't get it if we were careful, and it "Burned Out" (no longer around). You don't NEED to be exposed for this to pass hopefully. I think Disney, Universal, et al will be just fine. They will double the prices and let half the people in. The big worry for them is will Joe Six Pack be able to trundle the wife and kids in the SUV and make their way down to Orlando? A theme park vacation with travel, hotel meals, attractions etc can run around $ 6,000 to $ 10,000 for a family of 4.

And I’m amazed at the number of people who just don’t get that we are trying to flatten the curve so the hospitals don’t get overwhelmed and at the number that think masks are to protect yourself and that not wearing one shows a complete lack of concern for other people’s health.

The hospitals never were overwhelmed with maybe New York being an exception but it didn’t even happen there. You’ve drank the Kool-Aid. Don’t wear a mask and never will. Unless you have underlying conditions or comorbidities, this virus in my opinion is less harmful than the flu. In fact I would like to just get it and build the antibodies and be done with it

I never stopped getting out there. Once I realize that we had been lied to from the get go about this whole thing, I just resumed life as much as possible the way I had been. Don’t have to worry about my family missing me because I’m not afraid of this. In fact I would like to just get it and build the antibodies and be passed it just like everyone else is going to have to do eventually

Things will start to open up, but there isn't going to be an "all clear" signal ...we all need to use our own judgment on what we feel safe doing going forward and what we are willing to risk. Keep in mind there are some folks out there that have a mind set of 'full speed ahead, damn the torpedo's".....that's their choice, but I will keep them at a distance. So we all just self manage.

I'd like to get back to attending church on Sundays...but curious how that's going to work out sitting shoulder to shoulder...maybe every other pew is left open?

I plan to continue to wear a mask into the liquor stores for awhile yet...just to see how long it will take before the clerk backs away from the counter with their hands raised up over their head....lol

seriously, I'm not all that anxious to go to the Sharon or Savannah Center and sit shoulder to shoulder and on top of the folks in front of me and folks close behind me
(and we would be at those venues 3 or 4 times a month) just yet

I'll feel comfortable inviting close friends over for drinks / dinner, but not comfortable going to crowded places like the bars/restaurants at the squares....

hopefully the folks over at UK's Oxford do come up with a vaccine by September...then the scramble will be manufacturing it and dispensing it....if so It could be a very happy new year for all of us

Many have lost their health insurance along with their job. Those who need food on their table will be first out.

Since most here have the luxury of stability in income, know where their next meal is coming from, and have all their bills paid, can on their own free will decide to live in their home till they feel safe, even if takes years.

Those without will do what they need to do to feed their families, I respect those who need to make those decisions

Good news if enough is available.
Don't think it is a complete 'cure' but it will give a lot of people a chance.

A vaccine or treatment and it will diminish - no one has to be locked away forever - and just a few comments - my ex husband and his 2 adult children just admitted with Covid 19. His wife and family thought they too could be out and about and now look what happened - my ex has had 2 open heart surgeries and diabetes - will he make it - who knows - so you sir go out and about and resume your life ! This cavalier attitude is so unappealing

Just saw the Governor tell us on TV that hair salons and barbershops will remain closed. I guess I better get a Tee shirt that identifies me as HUMAN. Interestingly, his hair looks the same as it did in March although he said he hadn't had a haircut since Feb

Restaurants reopening with restrictions. Twenty-five percent indoor capacity. No bars.

Gyms remain closed.

Public gatherings limited to ten folks or less

Even though i consider many places in the Squares to be bars that serve food .. I'm okay with restating that to fall in the governor's guideline .. If a place charges for peanuts and pours me a Jack, I'm happy with agreeing that it counts as a restaurant that serves adult beverages. Those that disagree are free to stay away from such establishments, as they probably didn't frequent before anyway.

We have age as one major factor against us.

Since I have a couple of comorbidities my return to normal life isn’t going to happen.
So as much as I want to be out and about I am at very high risk.
I’m sure many of us have medical conditions that put us at higher risk than most.
The answer is not as simple for many of us as one might think.

No. They have worn masks occasionally for a long time. They told me that when they don’t feel well or have a cold, they wear a mask as a courtesy to others to avoid spreading their germs. It’s not at all unusual. I lived there for a couple years long before this virus.
