Re: Country Club pools: those aren't Villages amenities and not part of any Rec centers. So you'd need to get in touch with the club you're interested in to find out when they're opening and what their rules are.
Re: family pools & kids: the notice says priority will be given to residents. So if Grandma has grandkids down visiting, and Sue Villager wants to go for a swim, then theoretically Grandma will need to either bring her grands somewhere else, or take a step back so Sue can get in first. Whether or not this will be enforced, or even enforceable, is another matter entirely.

Done, I will take the hour of lap swimming and hand over the sanitizer and TP, but I don't have any yeast, so I will throw in another roll of TP.

Funny for sure! I seem to remember seeing a post somewhere before that you really miss your exercise by swimming laps so I'll just keep the swap simple, one long weekend back in the beautiful Berkshires for 2 of my hours in the lap pool!

And just how is it that they would be ruining it for everyone? I’m sure most people will respect the guidelines, but there has to be some flexibility. Everyone is not going to act exactly the way you or even The Villages thinks they should. These amenities are paid for by the homeowners. They are not a gift. Im pretty sure The Villages realize they cannot get too heavy handed in this. As individuals I think we have the right to control what we do, and not so much what other folks are doing.

Sports pools should only allow 10 persons , allmoving in the same direction, lenghthwise swimming or jogging. One person gets out, another allowed in. No width wise walking!

I can't swim laps anymore because of leg issues. I am now just doing water walking. Trying to use the adult/family pools is hard because some folks like to stand at the edge of the pool and chit chat. I don't have a problem with that because I think everyone has the right to use the pools as they see fit. So, I use the sports pools during combo swim to water walk. That being said, I highly disagree with the suggestion of no cross walking in the pool!!

It is not just a few villagers that don't play by the rules. We have a huge amount of newcomers within the last five years that believe they are entitled to whatever they want and when they want it. The pools will not last long at all. Years ago we had monitors at the pools and that did help a little bit. Because there was a cost to it the Developer Corp. decided to get rid of monitors and save a few bucks.

It is far higher than 2%. It is more like 65%. Besides, how many of you have really thought about what is floating in those pools. How many of you stop complete strangers and ask them to come into your house and get in your bathtub with you? Not to gross you folks out, but pee, feces, drainage from open wounds that are in areas you can't see just to name a few things floating in the water you are walking in. Chloride doesn't kill everything.

Wow! What an selfish attitude! People are just trying to protect themselves form inconsiderate people like you. I am really tired of having to stay at home all the time because “honest, god-fearin’ ‘Muricans” won’t let anyone tell THEM what to do and won’t listen to reason when it comes to covering their faces to prevent spraying their germs on others.
I’d go out more often and spread my money around the local businesses and help get the economy on track, but no, people like you refuse to cover up and so it’s not safe to do so.

That is incorrect. From the CDC website:
“There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water.”

You aware correct. What was in the Rec News in the DS was clear IF your neighborhood pool is NOT listed it is NOT open.
The 3 adult only pools that WERE listed I believe are on the property of a Rec Center like the family and sports pools. This would make sense since the rec employees are the monitors.
If Ma and Pa Kettle Show up at any pool they will be required to maintain 6ft at least while sitting in the chairs. It was CLEARLY written that MOVING of the furniture will NOT be allowed.
I pity the monitor, they not only have to check ur ID they have to write down what time u came in and were u are located, in CASE they have to REMIND u that it’s time for u to leave
I know I would want THAT job, NOT.

I don't really think that a public pool with a lot of people in it is going to be sanitary, sterile or safe! They would have to put so much chlorine in that pool that everyone's skin would either dry out or burn like heck from all the chlorine. As we all know people will pee in the pool and saliva will get in the pool and of course just about every other body function you can think of May leak into the pool also. Some people aren't well and that will go into the pool. This also causes problems. I just personally feel that I Would not go into the pool until everything is basically safe and secure and they have a cure or some kind of thing to stop this virus. 6 feet away won't help when everybody is sharing the same basic bathwater! Think about it. I prefer not to dive into a pool that is, what I feel, not totally safe yet.. but that is just my opinion . Everyone has a right to theirs and I'm not looking for an argument I'm just stating the way I feel , and the way I know others feel that I know personally. And also what I've heard from Friends who have spoken to me about the public pools.

1. The Villages has no public pools.
2. They are limiting the number of people allowed in the water at any given moment, and they're ALSO limiting the duration of swimmers/pool-dunkers to 1 hour each.
3. There is no diving in ANY of the pools, so your preference not to dive into one is irrelevent.
4. People pee and cough and spit into the pools when there isn't a virus going around. If you're not okay with that, you probably shouldn't ever go into a pool that is ever occupied by anyone else, ever.
5. Welcome to the forum. Interesting you picked this thread for your first post.
