Just went outside at 9:15ish 4/30/2020, to look for my cat. Looked up into the sky and saw a very long line of what looked like jets flying single file, almost spaced exactly the same distance apart, flying over my house in Del Mar, in a west to east direction. Ran back inside to get my husband to look with me, we both watched this for several minutes until they got too far to see.
Any ideas what this was? My guess is airlines moving jets to another airport.....unless is was military jets.

I suspect you saw the satellites that SpaceX has been launching. In each launch, there are a lot of them (don't know how many) and they are placed into low earth orbit and will eventually be raised to their final location. They are intended to support WiFi anywhere on earth. A week or so ago the Daily Sun had a story about people seeing a line of lights in the sky like you described and the answer was the SpaceX satellites.

My husband saw the same thing. He said he has never seen anything like this formation.

Thank you! I was thinking they looked more like satellites than aircraft because I could see no blinking lights. Next guess was aliens, LOL!
What a weird and amazing thing to see, there were so many!
I would think Blue Angels flyovers would be during daylight hours as well.

On Forbes.com, there is a twitter video by Astrit Spanca that shows exactly what we saw. The article is entitled “How to see a Starlink Train from your home this week as SpaceX satellites swarm the night sky, and is dated April 20.
Sorry I don’t know how to link it here. The video is halfway down the page, taken in Kosovo. Very interesting!

Did you see it? A Starlink train flew over Florida last night
Orlando, Fla. - If you were lucky enough to step outside at 9 p.m. and look at the clear starry skies last night, you couldn’t miss the train of satellites flying overhead.
The recently launched Starlink satellites streaked across the sky, Thursday, passing close to the moon in spectacular fashion.

You saw the Starlink satellies that Elan Musk launched last year. Eventually there will be thousands of them in the sky.

These are the satellites that are going overhead to measure everyones temperature to see where the virus is concentrated at. They ask you to face up and to not have any clothes on.

Exactly. NASA calls it a satellite train.
