I am finally getting around to landscaping my courtyard villa back yard. I have spent hours reading posts but would love to have some comments on the BIG lawn services, maybe with specifics. I only want yard pest and fertilizer and would like to know if you are happy with them and about what you pay. So far I have only called Dean. who are the others? Thanks much.

Fired Deans, a couple neighbors fired Masey....Big isn't always better.

I have had Massey for 4 years for the yard fertilizer. It costs $35 every 2 months. I don't know what they do, but my grass always looks green with no weeds. I only pay them when they come out and do a treatment. They put a nice plastic sign in the yard when they do something. They also do pest control for $45 per quarter. Again, I don't know what they do, but I don't have any bugs in the house. I refuse to do business with Dean's because they require a credit card that they can charge whenever they want.

I recommend Falcon Lawn and Pest control, they are very professional. The added value is they do not use sprays just granular pellets. If you have a finished driveway/sidewalk, sprays will stain the surface where if there are any pellets on these surfaces you can just sweep them back into the grass or bush areas. If you call I would ask for Glen. He is knowledgeable and professional. Good Luck.

I have used Massey for 11 years for most all services, even sprinkler maintenance. If I have a problem, I call, they come. They bill as each service is done.

We use Village Lawn & Home....the package includes cutting the lawn, spraying the beds for weeds, fertilizer and bug control that they outsource to Zoysia Green...we have a designer home, so the yard area is larger than what you'd be looking at with a Villa

lawn looks fine, never any bugs...$107 a month give them a call 352.551.7194

have had them now for 3 years....more an more of my neighbors are going with this company after having gone with others

only downside is that they don't take a credit card...so I have to write a check every month

Zoysia Green Lawn & Shrub Care | Pest Control | Lake County (https://www.zoysiagreen.com/)

I've used them for nearly 10 years and I'm very satisfied. When a rare occurrence happens, they are quick to react. My weed/feed cost is $45 bi-monthly. It's never gone up since day one. I spray my own shrubs and foundation, but they do offer that service as well.

We switched from Deans to Zoysia Green. Our lawn has never looked better.

I use New Englander's do-it -yourself lawn and garden service. He always does a great job.

We have had them for 11 years as well as for all yard related maintenance, except mowing. They do a better job than most. If I see a problem, I call the supervisor and he is usually out the next day. They even planted plugs in an area that died. We do not have to pay in advance.

I also use Superior (in Fenney). Ask for Mario,. He does a great job of keeping my lawn green and weed free.

I switched to Fertigator after Service Smart ruined my lawn. I couldn't be happier. It's not perfect, yet, but I trust them and they have done a wonderful job so far. They will come out in between servicing for free. The price depends on how many services you need and how big your lot it.

You would be better off doing it yourself or find a friend to help. Dean’s, Massey and Good Neighbor all are bad. Good Luck

One thing about the small guy is most of them don’t have insurance. Dean’s has insurance. Accidentally the Deans lawn mower person got too close to our house and ripped the water nozzle out of the house. Deans supervisor was there in minutes. A plumber was called and the water was repaired no cost to us. Their response was excellent.

For an update have now used Massey fur just under 6 months for fertilizing, weed and pest control and all is well.

Will decide within 6 months on termite treatment company. Do not like having to pay each year to keep warranty.
