We recently purchased in TV. Currently we are in Illinois and the only way to find out what's happening in TV is to read "Talk of the Villages."
Does anyone have a ballpark figure on what a small birdcage lanai would cost?
I believe that a lanai (at least in the Florid/TV area) is an open sided patio with a solid roof over it. If you screen in the sides, it becomes a screened lanai and if you enclose it with glass or acrylic, it becomes a Florida room. A birdcage is a patio that is enclosed with screening on both the sides and the roof.
So which of these are you asking about?

I'd like to know the cost of a small birdcage too.

Screen all the way around including the roof
For a three sided birdcage with a poured concrete foundation and a non slip acrylic floor finish, about $5k.

I had mine added on during building and it was about 10" X 12" on a concrete slab attached to the lanai. TV charged us $1500

I am envious of the Illinoisans (I don't know if that is the correct term or not) who have already purchased in TV. I made my first visit to TV earlier in July and was quite favorably impressed. When I am shivering and stuck in a snow drift in January I will think of you all basking in in the sunshine and warmth of TV.:sigh:
