Is Publix price gouging? Found 1 pkg of T.P. there yesterday. It was $4 for a 4-pk of 1 Ply rolls. $1 a roll for 1 ply? Got the same pkg last week at Dollar Tree for $0.25 a roll. Anyone know if this is a normal price at Publix or did they jack it up?

Not price gouging. I always buy the Scott 1000 single ply for about a dollar a roll. It's the best. Although, sometimes I get complaints from visitors.

prices are going up at Publix...buck a roll doesn't seem too outlandish
actually I'm just happy to find it in the stores
I did notice that Boar's Head Sweet Slice deli ham has increased a dollar....the next thing that people will hoard apparently is meat

Publix prices are always high. They give great customer service, so some people don't mind the high prices.
For example, a gallon of milk is $4.25 at Publix, and about $2 at Aldi or Walmart.

Meat hoarding is already happening in some parts of the country. The price of bacon doubled in one day, and chicken went up 36%. In the very next story, they showed farmers with enormous piles of unsold produce and ranchers and dairy farmers euthanizing livestock because their sales are down due to restaurant closures and closures of some meat packing plants. There shouldn't be shortages of anything, but once a few lemmings take off toward the cliff... Costco has already limited meat purchases to three packages, and other stores will probably do the same if they haven't yet. In the same news story, they also said Lowes and other big box stores were sold out of freezers for the next few months. You can't keep idiots from being idiots. At least this latest panic waited until the restaurants opened.

Could be that the wholesaler increased their price. The only reason one-ply toilet paper exists is for use in the guest bathroom when your in-laws visit.

That's how much TP costs, around $1 per roll. More if you get Bounty.

Where can you buy Bounty toilet paper? I did a search, and I cannot find anyone who sells it, not even Amazon.

Would you rather pay $1.50 a roll and actually come home with several roles or pay 25 cents and spend your day on the hunt? I'll pay! No Problem. Those people in Publix are part owners No? Paying a little more is just Stimulating Them. After all, look at what all retail people are doing to serve us all.
Remember about a month ago we discussed tipping Supermarket Personel and the people who bring your order out to the car and how hard it was for them to accept it. Times have changed. Now I guess they have come to the realization that the really deserve it. Can you imagine one of them getting fired for accepting $50? It would have been all over the news. Now they even know how to palm the money and aren't clumsy about it. I'm sure most store managers would look the other way if an employee was Stimulated as they are trying to weather the storm. Bless them all. Everybody knows Publix costs a little more. To me, it's worth it. They are the Greatest.

I believe you, but it sounds like it may be a Chinese company trying to make a knock-off product for a name brand product that doesn't even exist.
