Played Hacienda last night. PVC was cut down so ball has to go in hole. Back to real golf.

Other courses outside the bubble have a piece cut of a floaty about an inch below the lip. Works great too and when maintenance pulls flag to mow, it comes out with the flag.

:confused: What would the purpose be for having anything (cut down pipe) in the hole if it still allows the ball in? I understand the pipe in the hole sticking up/out of the hole or a piece of swim noodle just below the top of the hole. They both stop the ball from have to removed from the bottom of the hole by first removing the flag stick. :popcorn:

Actually it's a great improvement. The ball actually (used the word twice) drops down onto the pipe......but not to the bottom of the hole. Easy to pull the ball out without removing the flag or touching anything. Real putting.

Also saw that Mallory and Bacall did same thing.

Agreed this is a good improvement and does make putting a bit more "real"

They were running out of space in the Daily Sun for all the hole-in-ones.

:) I did get a kick out of reading the hole in one column yesterday. Several people had 2 in their 9 hole round on executive courses. I had 3 in the last 6 or 7 rounds and would NOT count them. :1rotfl:

Maybe somebody needs to test and confirm that the covid virus can indeed live and thrive in a golf hole in the noonday Florida sun. And for how long?

We played Hilltop yesterday it noticed it was done. I commented to the ambassador I was thankful someone had a better idea and followed thru. Aiming for a big white piece of plastic just wasn't a bright idea, but hey any improvement is a good one.:MOJE_whot:

You people should enjoy having seen (past tense) your name and goofy pics of posing by the flag (with the pvc pipe sticking out of it) in the paper because you really didn’t get an actual hole in one; you know that don’t you,
Real golf begins again.

Not a very high priority for the fight against covid.

PGA soon opening, and they can't have the crowds shouting "Hit the PVC pipe!"
So many spectators have spent years perfecting "Inderhole!"

What next no caddies for the pros ? Due to risk of infection they'll have carry their own bag

Last week on a championship par four, one of our guys hit a terrible drive, and followed it up with a scull that went well over the green. His third shot was another scull that would have gone thirty/forty yards back over the green if it hadn't hit the pin (hard), resulting in a birdie. Thank you Villages Golf for giving us back some reality.

Played a course with that solution. Wish we had done that here from the get go.

Played this morning, pipe was cut down just below the cup. Can put in cup, but only drops down maybe 1/2”. Makes you feel good to putt with dignity
Let’s the games begin:a040::a040:
