View Full Version : Concrete pouring
The concrete is pouring in the courtyard of our Villa. No More weeds, no more watering..what more can a city boy ask for.
Actually we are going to buy large flower pots for color and have Amy Newsome paint it to match the floor in our birdcage.
Next is the Villa front's transformation to a stone garden.

We had most of our courtyard concreted in as well. Last year we had it painted and you would be surprised how cooler the concrete is to the touch.
On a hot day you could not stand bare footed on the concrete for very long. I would estimate a good 20-30 degrees cooler to the touch with it being painted and sealed.

Sounds like you're going maintenance free. How about artificial plants in those pots? No worry about bugs, water, freeze damage or trimming. We have one on our patio, but the wind keeps blowing it over because no dirt in the pot so it is top heavy. Will probably have to but something heavy in the pot like concrete.

I love your idea. Can we do this with designer homes??????
Sure would be a lot easier.

I always wanted to have a yard of Astroturf. Has anyone considered doing this or actually done it?

K9-Lovers, that is some great fake grass. It even has a few brown blades thrown in for realism.
TV had a long and very cold period this past winter. In March, we saw some people spray painting their grass green using a water hose type thing. It is illegal because of runoff and ground water pollution. But by golly, their grass looked great!!
