Gio's. Oxford. Route 301 near Wawa. It's My Choice. It's so good 2 slices and I'm done. Ok, maybe 3 or 4. :1rotfl:
Your taste???? Who knows. You may have to suffer as we all did. I've had pizza that was truly tasted like Cardboard with Catsup! It's fun to search around on your own. There is Good, Bad, and Fugly! :boxing2:
The only Pizza we ever had delivered was one with, sit down. PINEAPPLE. That is just not right!

Gio is short for Giovanni, so why don't you just go to his original location in the Southern Trace Shopping Center. They have great prices as well, lunch time spaghetti & meat sauce, salad and bread for $6.99. I've been eating there for 9 years and I don't how they do it. His brother Roberto at Pinellas Plaza charges almost twice the price. Technically it's also north of 466 or could say, it's on 466.
South of 466 you have Bravo Pizza at LSL, which a lot of people really like, it's mostly known for dinning in since it's harder to get to. You have the new place, Piesano's Stone Fired Pizza at Lake Deaton Plaza, I call it Rohan, that makes it easier to find. They are very good. You have Mallory Country Club, which is also brick oven, it's a little fancier since you're sitting in a country club restaurant with table cloths. You have Roberto's at Pinellas Plaza, which I mentioned earlier, I've it 3 times, twice good, once bad. You the normal places that deliver from Wildwood, Pizza Hut, Dominoe's, Papa John's and Hungry Howie, I would say Pizza Hut is the best of the bunch. You have a couple of Italian Restaurants that offer pizza, Ricciardi's at Brownwood which was good, but the last time I got one, they only had one size and it was $10, it wasn't enough to eat. What makes that odd is this is their only sit-down restaurant, in Orlando they are a chain of pizza places, so you would think they would specialize in pizza. Then there is Mezza Luna at Colony, I use to go when they opened 6 or 7 years ago, but it seemed to have gone down hill and now I never see any cars and wonder how they stay in business. There is Sammy's on 301 in the shopping center across from Lucky U Cycles. I had it once, one waitress and a dinning room full of people, it looked like a nice place, but understaffed. The pizza had the condiments under the cheese, I just didn't like it at all. I guess my choice would be Giovanni's at Southern Trace. If we weren't limited by location, I would go to Sammy Joe's at Mullberry Plaza at the north end of TV, I have their thin pizza probably 30 times even though I have to drive 12 miles to get there, but it's not the greatest dinning experience, the place is small, tables are small, TV's are impossible to see, but it's very good.

You're right, how could I forget, been to the new one at Traverse about 30 times. I know because you get a free pizza after ten stamps, and I've had 3 free pizzas. The lunchtime mypie is a great deal, a good size individual pizza and drink for $6.99. However, when I got the free king size regular pizza, it was even better. So my choice, don't get the Mypie special, get a regular thin crust pizza, and the atmosphere is decent.
It's in the Traverse Shopping Center next to the new Brownwood Hotel. I'm going to have to pick this over Giovanni's because it's closer and never any wait.

FYI, the largest pizza sold at Flippers is 16 inches. But, Piesano's has a 24 inch pizza. For those who like math, a 24 inch pizza is 452 square inches, but a 16 inch pizza is less than half of that at 201 square inches.

We've tried many of the pizza joints in TV
they're okay, but haven't found one yet that is as tasty as the ones that we were able to pick up before we moved down here (isn't that the case for us all huh?)
if you wanna travel a bit, Francesco's out on 441/27 in Summerfield is perhaps the best we've had
But, for me....I think my Italian wife's home made pizza is actually the best south of 466....
sorry, we don't deliver and don't offer takeout....however:
it's easy, buy the fresh made pizza dough from the bakery counter at Publix...pick up a jar of pizza sauce in the aisle, and some shredded Italian cheese down in the cheese cooler
add whatever veggies and meat on top you like and pop it in the oven

A technicality. How do you really answer a question the OP asked? You gotta be willing to travel a little.
Gio's is so much better than the stuff we have endured it's worth breaking the boundaries a bit.
I didn't send them to Goombas in Claremont. That would be over the nit-picky technical boundaries of the pizza investigation. :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

We are new villagers from Massachusetts.. been here 4 months. Love a lot of things about TV, but food has not been one of them. We like thin crust pizza with more sauce than cheese. Haven't found pizza any place that compares to back home... so we have resorted to homemade. The other disappointment has been fresh fish. We love making our own fish dishes, but the availability of fresh fish, like haddock is ridiculous, and if you can find it, ridiculously priced. Seriously... $19.99 lb for haddock??

NYPD on 466 is the closest pizza to back home in Jersey. The staff and owner are great as well. The owner actually gave his works a raise when they went to delivery and take out only. To off set for less tips due to the dining room being closed. Support local businesses.

We’ve been here over 3 years and learned very early that there’s NO pizza here that compares to what we knew back in upstate NY. So I make my own, from scratch, including the dough which is the most important part. We enjoy it thick, light and crispy.

I agree, I posted on here about them a couple of years ago. When I posted that they only make one size, a 12" pizza the owner actually responded on here. They only have a small oven and they can't make anything larger. So unless things have changed, go if you only need a snack with your beer or order two if hungry. It's really a bar and the pizza and hot dogs help supplement the business. It's a nice little place that has atmosphere in downtown Leesburg, and it would be great now since they have outdoor seating.

Not exactly south - Legends and their wings are fantastic. You can get wings in many different forms. Look up their menu. If you just want pizza south of 466 try Piesanos. Other respondents agree that their pizza is really good. If you want pasta with meat sauce then Stavros - again not exactly south. And of course Chinese - Chengs on 466. A little hole in the wall but really good food.

I hate to correct your first post, but you confused two different places into one, that might confuse others. Sammy's Italian Restaurant is on Hwy 301 in the fairly new shopping center across from Lucky U Cycles. I actually hated the way they put the toppings under the cheese and never went back after one pizza.
Sammy Joe's, my favorite pizza in all of TV, is in Mulberry Plaza in the north end of TV near the VA Medical Center.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm sure there are people who have mixed up the two places. I happen to like both, as I do most of the pizza places in the area. I'm pretty easy to please, it's pizza, all good. If anything, some pizzas are too heavy on the garlic, oregano or salt for me. Sadly, I haven't had pizza in months - had to give up my favorite food group. LOL

Stavros on 441.
I've eaten there once, and forgot about it because we didn't go back. I liked the pizza, but tasted oh so very rich, like maybe they used a richer tasting Mozzarella Cheese. It does taste very good, I think I'm going to give it another try. In Fruitland Park, go 466A east to 441/27 turn south and it will be across the highway on your left in a short distance, can't miss it. It's got a quite local flair sort of like a northern restaurant.

Then I would suggest Gino's East in Chicago. Instead of south of 466 it's a little north of it. The best I've ever had and I'm from The Bronx. Heard they're opening a Gino's East in Atlanta. That would be a shorter drive.

Been there many times. The last couple of times the pizza was just ok but the pasta with meat sauce was spectacular.

I looked into that and found this in the Villages News last August 2019;
A site plan and comprehensive plan amendment also was approved for a Stavros & Sons pizza restaurant planned on 1.2 acres on the north side of CR 462 at County Road 132. The restaurant chain started in Daytona Beach and now operates at more than a dozen locations, including Lake County.
That location is here at the top of the map:

I found this on the Starvos Facebook page, they mentioned a meeting with Wildwood Planning Committee 11 weeks ago. Said this might take a while since they are bulding form the ground upl.

Technically not south of 466 but on its north side, NYPD is by far the best pizza in TV. We live just north of 44 and have no problem traveling for their excellent food and friendly service.

Different strokes for different folks.
This thread reminds me of one a couple of years ago asking where was the best Mexican food in the Villages.
Someone actually said “Taco Bell”!
