Just wondering where is the paper?
Weeks ago the paper companies were working overtime, starting up old machines, etc. Everyone that bought thousands of rolls should not be in need. Where are the paper companies sending their products?
Just wondering!

maybe some hoarders felt left out in the first buying binge.

There was not a shortage.
Just too many inconsiderate binge buying hoarding, driven by self induced fear factor, stimulated by the media frenzy factor.

I got a large twelve roll pack @ Aldi's, Trailwinds Village last week.
They also had paper towels.

Doubt if anyone on here knows where the companies are shipping product.
Maybe you could check a couple web sites and contact them directly.

Toilet paper is less of a problem. Both Walmart and Sam's have had inventory the last time I was there, also lots of Bounty paper towels and tissues. Only Clorox wipes still among the missing but we are making our own spray. Sam's did have their own brand of concentrate......would make almost 300 gal :)

Sam's did have their own brand of concentrate......would make almost 300 gal :) Got Clorox wipes (they also had their own brand w/identical ingredients) Saturday at the Walmart in Leesburg on 441. They seem to have much more inventory than the one on 466 and also have much larger aisles so you're not running in to everyone. :) It's actually a mile closer for me than the 466 one (I am near Colony).
The guy filling the shelves said the best time to shop there for that kind of stuff is after 5PM which we have found to be correct. They fill in after 4PM he said. Check the Walmart app for that store as it has been pretty accurate recently. We also got a box of Costco brand disinfectant wipes with online ordering. They came in 3 days after ordering despite their website stating 15 business day delivery. They come and go from the site yso you have to keep checking.

True. Most production plants run 24/7 (prior to virus) and are fully automated, so catching up is taking time.

Have you tried washing it yourself so you can reuse?

Probably not going to be problem in near future, most won’t have money to buy it if people don’t get back to work.

Find your nearest Dollar General. They have most items you can't find elsewhere. Especially toilet paper.

There was plenty at Publix this morning but I stopped seeing it in shopping carts by around 11:30 (they opened at 8). Walmart has it most of the day. In fact most supermarkets have it available.

BJ's in Clermont had ample supplies of TP for sale (along with other paper good products)....as did a Publix in Clermont

If you travel a little distance beyond The Villages it seems like the stores have more of everything on the shelves

I am not one of the ones who hoarded paper products. But we will buy an extra package here and there to add to our hurricane preparedness kit.

Got some at WM Saturday morning they had quite a large selection. And even for their brand it’s pretty soft and strong I might add

OK back after we give it a try, find it better to do stuff like that before dear wife wakes up.

Get in line at opening of one of the grocery stores early in the morning, get pushed and shoved and almost run over by a cart as everyone is racing to the paper product isle. If that does not work then your back yard garden hose makes a great bidet!

I was in Walmart the other day and no toilet paper! So I asked one of the people there and they said because things are "opening up" many people are available the virus will be back and are "stockpiling" again!

One people does not make it fact.

I was there this morning after "old people hour" and on my way to pick up some cow fluids......I looked and there was plenty of TP. I estimate the shelves were 1/3 full. Paper towels shelves were stocked at normal levels.

Part of the shortage is due to retail being the only distributor of paper products over the past 2-3 months. With most businesses being shut down, most of the paper usage is in homes, thus additional supply is needed. Same goes for other products like food items......restaurants closed, eating at home. The demand shift was not expected by suppliers and retailers. Then again, the addition of some people hoarding just addes to the shortages. Paper products in retail outlest are hit and miss, but are there, just not all the time.

It really does seem to be hit or miss. Nothing at Sam's the last few times I've been there and you can't order any from their website. Same thing at Costco. Nothing at Lake Deaton Publix either. The farther you get from the Villages, the better the supplies are.

We were in Colony Publix this afternoon late, after 3pm and they had Cottonelle 6 mega-roll pack in stock for $8.24. We bought the same thing a week ago at Colony Walmart for $6.48.

Procter and Gamble is running Charmin manufacturing at full tilt while keeping employees safe.

According to Business Insider, P&G’s Pennsylvania plant “stretches about a mile, end to end.” (chuckle, chortle, snort) The article, from a few days ago, said that strict safety measures are in place and as of May 6, there have been no positive cases of Covid at the plant.

Side effect of so much attention to the empty shelves breeds the hoarders self questioning "....do I have enough..." even if the garage is full!!

OK, I admit. We are the Hoarders.

My wife went to Target on Monday and actually bought Charmin with 6 mega-rolls. We were thrilled.

We went back yesterday but there was nothing, and none at Publix on 466 or at Aldi's.

Today I went to the 466A Publix at 7:00 AM and they had Cottonelle with 6 megas, so I grabbed it.

Then I went across 466A to the Wal-Mart and they had lots of Charmin, so I bought two packs of Charmin with 12 mega-rolls each.

That should hold us for awhile, unless I have one of those fits we all dread.

One of the Instacart shoppers was at Sam's for me this week and texted to let me know that TP and paper towels were in stock if I needed any. I said thanks but I was good. He then followed up to let me know that Clorox wipes were also available, then same for eggs. Nice of him, but just what's on the list, thanks!

Here's my new hobby. I get a notice that the shopper has begun selecting items and I can see as each one is marked as picked. I follow the person mentally around the store ... beverages, bread, deli. What? You went all the way to the front of the store for shampoo, the all the way back for produce?

That's how little it takes to keep me entertained. Following the little car icon on the delivery map also whiles away a few minutes. Some of the icons include the driver's face. Whee!

just returned from BJ's in Clermont...again, they had plenty of TP, paper towels, Kleenex, napkins....

we go there because we've always liked the meats at BJ's...smaller portions that Costco

they are limiting you to one of each (checked at the checkout)

we didn't buy any TP, as we had enough on hand already

Lock up the rolls and assign each one a roll and tell them it must last at least two weeks before another gets reissued.
