Went by the Sugar Cane pool, noticed that the gate was held open by the garbage can, approximately 20 people in and around the pool. No one wearing a mask. Signs clearly visible requiring mask wearing Inconsiderate people will ruin it for everyone.

things will change if there is a second round of covid-19
sounds like some are thinking that the 'all clear' siren has been sounded
we're continuing to play it safe...this is far from over
but everyone has the right to do what they feel they want to do (for now anyway)

Better steer clear of all those people.

Dont wear a mask..never will. Dont practice social distancing. Love walking up next to someone trying to pick out something in the supermarket and they run away.
Still can not understand the panic here..
If you are in panic mode...stay home...let us that value freedom not have to deal with your fear

I actually can understand the gate being held open

Best example of this was earlier today, although I don't know if it funny or just pathetic.
I was driving my cart on a MMP and a woman walking her dog was walking toward me. No one was coming the other way, so I moved to the far side of the path and would pass no closer than 8 or 9 feet from her. She dropped her dog's leash and nearly tripped over her own feet as she fumbled to put her mask on! Fortunately she didn't fall, the dog didn't run away, and I got to watch her finish donning her mask in my rear view mirror. Panic or prudence, you decide.

No they do not.
If it is required to be in that particular area then that is what is expected.
The issue is not those who choose to ignore the rules of the area.
It is totally the lack of enforcement.
No mask....out of the pool (area).

Until you run up against someone who calls you on your irresponsible lack of consideration.
I wanna be there when you meet him/her.

If you want to be there, what are you hoping for? An altercation, obscenities, or a weapon of some sort. Then you can be the witness, and satisfaction of saying you get what you ask for

Your example is the equivalent of walking up to someone and blowing second-hand smoke in their face and saying they shouldn’t worry because they’re PROBABLY not going to get cancer. Yet somehow you claim you’re the victim of having to deal with their fear.

Be careful who you play the fool with big boy. Vulnerable people are trying to protect themselves and their families from arse puppets that walk up to them in stores or demonstrate their meanness in golf carts. Bless their thoughtful hearts and watch that they don’t have someone not afraid of you nearby.

I find this hilarious, yet it is very sad. Here is a woman who has no idea why people are wearing masks. Her reactions of fumbling to get her mask on were to protect herself from you. She was clueless and has no idea that her wearing a mask would protect you from her.

Not sure who you are referring to as a "talking head" but the President has established with his team a three phased plan. We are still in phase I of that plan and social distancing,, wearing masks etc. are still part of the plan. I disagree that we will be in bad economic times for six years. If we wait another year to open up the economy there will not be much of an economy left and you can be assured that a "talking head" from another party has NO plan. This Country has to go back to work! We cannot continue to keep it shut down, with multi trillion give away programs like are now being proposed.

How incredibly rude some people are. I am recovering from lung cancer, so I wear a mask when I'm out and about and try to stay away from people. I am not panicking, , but I am trying to protect myself without burying myself in the house. For you to find it entertaining that some people are following the guidelines as recommended and think it's funny that you walk up on them and they run is despicable. I don't care how you feel about this pandemic and how you choose to handle it, but you should be more respectful of the people around you, especially when they are showing you (mask) that they are concerned. I hope you never have to battle an illness like lung cancer for a few years,, get to the point where you basically win (with daily medication) , and then have the whole thing threatened by a virus. Shame on you.

First of all masks are useless, as many doctors have said. I emailed the recreation department about the use of masks at pools. When you’re checking in they ask you to wear one and if you’re going to interact with someone inside of 6 feet they ask you to wear one. You do not have to wear one when you’re in the water, but they would still like you to observe the 6 foot rule. I went to a pool yesterday, there were about 10 of us there and no one was wearing a mask because it would be ridiculous to do so. All of us were more than 6 feet apart from each other. If you don’t like what you see at the pools then stay home. When is this paranoia over a virus that you cannot hide from and that is 99% survivable going to go away? It’s just ridiculous!

Your post quoted a prior post about a bully taking delight in walking up to people in stores to watch them run away. You opened with this line: “ Best example of this was earlier today, although I don't know if it funny or just pathetic.”. You also wondered if it was panic. Taken with the context and the theatrics you described that aren’t typical of someone prepared and walking on a path often filled with golf cars, I tried to answer your panic question for you . If you weren’t bullying by getting close with your cart, I sincerely apologize. I and more vulnerable people close to me wear PPE along the paths and in stores so I stand by my post as useful information. As to meanness, those posts stand for themselves.

This is one of those times in history which will bring out in the most starkest contrast those who follow nonsensical politicians and those who follow science. The results will be found in the data collected after the fact.

I was in no way "bullying" her with a cart. I moved as far away as possible, early, to give her a wide berth, even smiled and waved at her. Then she went fumbling for a mask.
It really had nothing to do with the post about encroaching people in a grocery store, which I DO NOT condone. Totally different scenario---indoor vs. outdoor, a foot or two vs. 8 or 9, etc.
I still don't know if it was funny or sad, but I'll say this to the poster who has lung cancer and is immunocompromised: It's probably a little early to be "out and about". Also, please realize that a mask does very little to protect you from exposure to the virus. Please don't assume you are safe from GETTING it because you wear a mask, because you are right, you don't want to survive lung cancer and chemo only to get taken out by a virus. Be safe.

Many thanks! "Out and about" for me is food shopping, (infrequently) and now our neighborhood pool...hardly anyone there. I am careful with sanitizing and steering clear of most people. I know I am still at risk but am trying to avoid panic mode...don't wanna live like that, either. Thank you for your thoughts. Much appreciated.

Again this comes down to those who need to express their "freedom" in the public square not understanding that their actions could have serious consequences for another human being. Your exercise in "freedom" could harm those you have close contact with. What a very child like selfish demeanor for someone in their later years.

Unless indoor shop requires a mask. It is suggested, recommended, not required. As long as you stay in your home you may be ok

Masks are useful for blocking droplets, even home made masks of cloth or paper towels and tissues. The virus needs droplets for mode of transmission from a person's nose or mouth. Droplets are spewed from the nose and mouth when breathing. Of course the droplets are propelled with more force when a person speaks, sneezes or coughs.
Have you seen this video which demonstrates how droplets are blocked by simple T-Shirt material? Take a look. This may change your mind as to how "useless" masks are.......

It's called reading comprehension. I totally understood that he moved his cart over 8 or 9 feet to provide plenty of safe distance between his cart and the woman. Go back to the post and read it again real sloooowwwwww.
