i have used Hindsight (Pinellas Plaza) several times for both bifocals and later progressive glasses and I was very pleased with the short time for glasses and the high quality.

I was there today, Sam's Optical is closed, you can't even try on frames because you would be touching something. They said, check back in a week or two.

I bought my last glasses online from Zenni.com. High quality and very inexpensive. They were single lens, not bifocal, but they do sell bifocals. The starting price for a pair of single lens glasses is about 7 dollars. Amazing.

Thanks. You are correct. The name is Zenni.com.

I would also add that this online store is so much cheaper than buying glasses at a store that it is really worth trying it.

Had mine done at “optical outlets” located at the shopping center 441 and Rolling Acres Road, small shop lots of frames to choose from and I paid $59 for my line bifocals, wife paid $249 for Titanium rimless frames no line bifocals, real happy, most other places wanted a lot more for theirs.

It's a drive but well worth it. Great selection and very reasonable prices. I let my Costco membership lapse after moving here but will probably rejoin when I need new glasses...or a new car!

I have been getting my prescriptions filled by Zenni for over ten years. The prices are about 1/4 to 1/3 of what you would pay locally. It takes a week or two as they come from California, but I would also suggest a “Progressive” lens instead of a straight “bifocal”. Titanium frames, the best, thinnest lenses with all the bells and whistles for less than $150.00

I would suggest you check out Beacon Advanced Eyecare, particularly the one in Lady Lake at LaPlaza Grand South, Bichara Boulevard, (near Spanish Springs). I have used them or some years and always found them to be quite good and helpful. There is another Beacon office in Leesburg, I would not recommend them.

We go to a local optician every year to have our eyes checked because our health insurance covers the cost.

However, they have a poor choice of frames, so we take our prescription to Wal-Mart to get our glasses. We have been very pleased with their choice of frames and the three pairs of glasses we purchased.

I get my tri-focal glasses and sunglasses through Sam’s Club. That’s where I get my eyes tested, too. I’ve been happy with them. I got contact lenses through them, too, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the lenses in and out and gave up.

Who do y’all go to for a check up? The last two times I went to Peepers in Colony but I couldn’t use the prescription they came up with, it was so far off it felt like I was in a carnival funhouse when I put the glasses on.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. John Deaton at Ocala Eye...he's in Laurel Manor Rec Ctr plaza (352.430.3356). I purchased new lenses/frames from them last time...pricey so I'll shop around next time

Once we took our prescriptions to SEARS because we had insurance coverage for glasses...I'd never use them again...awful experience, lousy frames

My husband and I both wear bifocals. We buy all of our glasses at Zenni.com. We also get the lenses that darken in the sun. We have never had a problem. The cost is about 1/3 of what the doctor's office charges.

I went to them also and am due now for an exam. The Lady Lake store is closed, nothing in there. I have been trying to call Leesburg to see if Dr. Berry is still with them, I keep getting a busy signal or disconnected. When i do get through on the occasion, the machine says they are now owned by myeyedr. I will still try calling, hopefully Dr. Berry is still with them.

Without a doubt, Clear View Optix is the best place to buy glasses. Ron has a great selection of frames and provides personalized attention. The address is 8481 SE 165th Mulberry Lane and the phone number is 352-259-6789. I have recommended my friends to him and everyone was very happy with their glasses.

It's very easy to measure your pupil distance yourself. Or, you can go to almost any optical store and they will measure it for free with a special machine they have.

Our optometrist told us to avoid "big box" stores for prescription glasses. Peepers may be a bit more expensive, but it is locally owned and operated. I love the care and attention that I receive from them. I have a frame from Oakley sunglasses (that I did not buy at Peepers), they custom made prescription sunglasses to fit these frames.

I had Lange do mine. I also had them re-do what was a horrible eye exam at St Luke's .. They were amazed at how off the script that Lukes wrote me. Also be ware that many of the shops do not take insurance of any kind. My experience is that unless all you need are basic readers, the discount places .. either brick and mortar or internet, do not have the best technology lenses .. IMO

What optician do you use? I would like to get a prescription only.
I think you mean optometrist or an ophthalmologist. An optometrist can write a prescription for glasses, but is not a medical doctor and cannot prescribe drugs. An opthalmologist is a medical doctor who can write a prescription for glasses and can also prescribe drugs. An optician is a person who can only measure you for frames and lenses, but cannot examine your eyes or write an eyeglass prescription.

I called Hindsight this morning, I'm going tomorrow. I don't have a written prescription, so I asked if they could determine my prescription by looking through my glasses. He said yes, and they can even find tune that with some other procedures.

I have gotten eyeglass prescriptions filled at Sam's Club two different ways. I have brought in frames and had updated lenses installed. And also picked out frames and lenses together from their offerings. They were accurately done, reasonably priced, and arrived on time.

I've gotten glasses from Sam's Club and Walmart on 466, they both do a good job, but it's usually a mad house and they are normally understaffed. Besides, both those optical shops are closed at the moment.

We went to Hindsight at Pinellas Plaza yesterday, I wanted sunglasses and my wife's blended glasses had a big scratch. We both got new glasses, mine I found in a minute, Eddie Bauer black frames sort of like Rayban. I didn't have a written prescription so they found my prescription by looking at my old glasses that I took with me. They look something like this. Since I now have a prescription, next time I'll try online.

https://media.designerframesoutlet.com/images/Thumbs/0451543_eddie-bauer-sunglasses-eb-32604p_580.jpeg

My wife got a pair of Eddie Bauer frames with blended lense, she doesn't like bi-focals, they're a lot more expensive. I have to say, the cost was way more than I've ever paid for two pair of glasses. The service was excellent and we got both pairs completed in about three hours.
