I frequently walk my dog 2-4 miles per day. While walking I often have a trash bag and pick up litter as I go. Yes, I do pick up after my dog too.

For Smokers- I hate that you throw your butts casually on the ground but can live with that. However on a recent walk thru the beautiful tree canopied area adjacent to Saddlebrook I picked up 18 cigarette packages!! Come on! Don't be so lazy and slobby- dispose of them properly and keep our Village looking great!

For Drinkers- I pick up and surprising number of beer cans and especially nip bottles. I get that you don't want to be caught with them on your cart/car/person but there is an easy solution- don't drink & drive! Keep our place looking nice and keep the rest of us safe even if you don't care about yourself!

I can understand occasional object blowing out, but they usually don’t make it inconvenient place behind something. :duck:

I pick up trash all sorts of trash all the time. You're a lot nicer about all this than I am.
People - it's not that hard to just collect your own garbage and dispose properly of it.

Surprised how often beer cans are tossed to the side of the road. How hard is it to keep a plastic bag in your cart?

We walk the MMP down Morse just about every morning between Mallory CC and LSL and there is always an assortment of "stuff" like a single shoe, towels, a sweater, headbands, beer cans, packs of cigs etc etc ... I think a lot of this stuff just falls out of the cart most of the time without the driver's knowledge. That being said there are 2 guys, one a nice British fellow, who walks (actually runs) going in the opposite direction of us and part of their exercise is to pick up trash in supermarket bags they bring and keep the area clean. They say the bending is a part of the workout. I've seen them with 2 or 3 full bags at times. Kudos to them both and I am sure there are others.

Most of the cigs butts are probably workers. I vision the beer cans as young visitors. I believe 99% of TVers love our clean environment.

I also pick up cigarette butts everyday, but they are gross and infected with the corona virus, so I pick them up with a Daily Sun bag over my hand. They are really bad for the environment and should be outlawed.

Has anyone else seen all the junk around the edges of many of the ponds? Especially lately with the much lower water levels...

Where I live in NY it is a dead end street with 10 houses. For years I find the same brand cigarette packs on the street that stop half way down with many on my yard. Could never figure out who it was. Thought I was kids but by now I figured they were grown up and should be gone by now. Recently I did see someone smoking in their car but he is 40 something and owns his own business so figured it couldn't be him all these years. Then I saw another neighbor mowing his yard and there were 5 packs in his yard so I talked to him. He said it was the same guy I saw down the street and his son collected about 50 packs in a bag and threw it on his porch a few years ago. The guy didn't get the message. My only hope is with the hundreds of packs he throws out on his own street he won't be around forever!

Along with the Cigarette butts and packs, as well as beer cans, carry out drink containers and fast food wrappers also see a lot of discarded dental floss picks, even discarded face masks. We all live in one of the cleanest places you can find anywhere, if you can carry it use it and drop it you should be able to carry it out and properly dispose of it. I know that a lot of this is contractors and people that do not live here but when I find it on the golf courses, the enemy is us.

I do not yet live in TV. But intend to in the near future.

However I think I have something that is relevant to the discussion. I have noticed this in several places I have lived. And there is no real excuse for littering like this. But, as far as the cigarette packages, beer cans etc. There are many people who forbid their partner (spouse the man or woman) to smoke, drink, eat fast food etc. and the person is getting rid of the evidence.

Like I said, no excuse but happens every day.

I once had a boss that would leave a little early everyday to go to McDonald’s. One day I said does your family eat McDonald’s everyday. His answer, “of course not, I eat it in the car before I go home, my wife would kill me”, lol!

For one to be infected with virus it would have to been just dropped. The sun and time kill the virus out in the environment. Humans are bad for the environment and should be banned. :)
