My wife and I are going to be making our first visit toThe Villages for the month of October :pepper2: We hope to meet a lot of you while we are there :beer3: We will be looking to purchase a home. Could you tell us why we should purchase in your village.

I like our Village of Amelia because of the location. Half way between Spanish Springs and the new town center. 10 minutes from LSL and 5 minutes to Colony Plaza. We rarely use our regular car to go anywhere. Location, location, location.

The Village of Santiago is well situated - 5 minutes to Spanish Springs and about 10 minutes to Lake Sumter. Also, many businesses are nearby on Rt. 441 (Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot, Kohl's, Target, Villages Hospital). We're not far from the restaurants, offices and library on Rt. 466. This Village has mature landscaping and the Bonds are either low or have been paid off.

Location, location, location is the best answer. And everyone will tell you their village is best. Mine is Sunset Pointe and I think that it is the best because of the same reasons logdog and villager since 09 used. My neighbors are friendly, the XXX and the AAA are the best. And we always YYY and ZZZ from there. Doesn't matter. Pick a home you like in a location you like and the villages will be the best according to you.

Mallory is great because it will be centralized once the third town square gets built. Mallory is beautiful (on the hill), it's quite, with great neighborhood groups.
The most important thing to me when we bought was 1)location- centralized 2)direction the house faced - in Florida, make sure that you choose a house where the lani is shaded in the afternoon or you will have 3 months with the sun blairing in 3) floorplan of house - whether closed or open kitchen, etc. Just remember you can remodel the inside. Whether you have carpet or tile, granite or not, etc...but you can't change the sun, or whether you have block or vinyl siding or whether you have a golf cart garage.
All the little differences in each house can be overwelming.
So my suggestion is be happy with the outside..... more than the inside.
Also, we rented for 3 months so that we didn't feel rushed to pick a house and had time after closing to have the interior painted before we moved in.
Good luck with your move.

We love Springdale because we have wonderful neighbors, a fitness trail and dog park, it's on the lush northside with it's mature landscaping and plentiful spanish-moss dripped oaks, it's near our favorite golf courses and it's near great shopping.
I agree with l2ride. They're all special!
