Amen, my wife and I thought the same thing, especially since we were victims......

At least the obnoxious troll in the commercial had the stones to face her neighbors rather than filing an anonymous complaint.

I donāt understand why people who try to enforce community standards are insulted by calling them trolls . I am not one of them and Iāve been lucky in the fact that all 5 homes here have had good neighbors that followed the rules again that we all signed up for sadly while walking or biking around the villages you can find many people who should be informed on.FYI and no I donāt come from a perfect place I still have a place in Boston , but cities are supposed to be different, the villages is a planned community with rules that again we all signed up for

In Season 6, Episode 15, of the X-Files, Mulder and Scully go undercover in a planned community. The episode title is āArcadiaā and it might be available on Hulu. (The promo can be found on You Tube.)
A friend from an HOA neighborhood back home told me that her neighbor complained about her grass ā said it was too green ā and made the other yards look bad. Gotta luv that one. :)

Because they are not the community standard police. Someone turned them in for something and they decided if I canāt do neither can someone else.
End the anonymous enforcement and if they want to enforce the rules do it themselves to everyone in the Villages no matter where in the Villages you live.

Human nature being what it is, this is the most effective and cheapest way to enforce deed restrictions. I see NO harm in it. And I agree that if you don't want to be "told on" take down the offensive item. Not everyone has good taste. VERY glad for deed restrictions. Plus, this way, the offensive person can suspect EVERYBODY. They should have removed all of those damned flamingos without being reported.

Gracie girl is right.
Not everyone has good taste.
Anyone who buys here should be aware of the deed restrictions. No need to be in non-compliance if you had read what you were signing at the closing.
The trolls should be stripped of their "anonymity" and be exposed for what they are:
Cowardly trouble makers.

I had a small flamingo behind a bush in my landscaping for 10. Years. I also put a small clear plastic angel in one of my plants, FIVE YEARS AGO when my daughter passed away. I recently got 'turned in' by the 'trolls' for a violation of having "birds" in my landscaping.
They called a tiny clear plastic ' angel'...a bird! Guess they couldnt see it very well, huh.? Took 10 years and 5 years to notice. Absolutely ridiculous!! Make the complainers give their names and these dumb reports will stop.

Just DO NOT trespass on my property to find a small item that cannot be seen from the street!!!

You canāt quite compare a small white cross to a tall-legged pink flamingo, now can you? Was still told to remove it!

Iām not a lawyer but I think if the rules are not uniformly enforced the board could be subject to lawsuits. I wouldnāt want to live in a community where rules are not enforced, having seen the results.
