Long Island Club?

Was going through all the clubs... not sure if I missed it or it doesn't exist. Is there a Long Island Club? (as in Long Island, New York)

I lived in East Meadow and Ronkonkoma. I am moving to TV soon. Closing on the house we just bought in Buttonwood is in August. We will be in Florida in September for a week and return again sometime in November. I have two other East Meadow friends who live in TV as well as someone in Medford.

We live in New Hyde Park --for a few more months --intend to be in TV full time by end of Oct --We have made several trips and met numerous couples from LI ---It might be fun to start a club and see how many people respond

there was a long island club when i first moved here two years ago which met at lake miona, but i think it folded because everyone wanted to attend but not too many wanted to help with the work. there is a very big new york state club which meets the first wed of the month at hacienda rec center, but it would be nice to have our own long island club, too...maybe just a once a year long island christmas party or reunion would be easier...a great way to make friends with whom to spend time the rest of the year!

I lived in several places on Long Island, the last being Jericho. Would love to see a Long Island Club formed. I will be moving to a house the beginning of November in La Zamora.

We will be there early November from Ronkonkoma to Buttonwood. Full time after Jan. 2011. If nothing is happening by then, I will get something together. I know of four other couples who live in TV. If nobody wants to put in the effert to make the LI Group work, I will...but we must wait until early next year. We just moved into Pennecamp (Delwood Way) on October 1st and are also from Long Island. I would definitely be interested in joining a Long Island Club but won't be here for the first meeting. Have to be back in Atlantic Beach. I'll see you at the next meeting. Great idea!!!

Hi Tom,
I live in Farmingdale on Long Island, and am selling my home in a few months to move down to the Villages. I am happy to see that there are other Long Islanders down there as well. I can't wait to move and will be happy to help with Long Island/Villages activities once down there.

Hi Tom,

My husband and I just moved into Pennecamp on October 1st but weren't able to make the first meeting on November 2nd because we were back on Long Island. We checed with the Lake Miona Rec Center and found that there was no December meeting there. Was the venue changed? We are interested in getting together with other Long Islanders. Going home in a week for the holidays but will be back in January. I will help with any arrangements that need to be made. Hope we can make this work. Happy Holidays to all.

I see lots of interest in this small thread about activating a Long Island Club. I don't know how to go about it but I will ask the FishHawk Rec Center if we can have a room for the a monthly/bi-monthly group meeting. If I can set something up, I'll PM all the people who responded to this thread and the dozen other Long Islands I know of in The Villages.
