Heard a rumor that Total Wine was planning to open a location by Millers Ale House on 27/441. Doing some research, it is confirmed. They are currently on boarding staff and will have a Grand Opening announcement in the near future.

This is great news
We enjoyed shopping at Total Wine down in Ft Lauderdale before we moved up to TV
For years we shopped at an ABC store...then a Total Wine set up shop across the street....ABC closed it's door, they
just couldn't compete with Total Wine
Once we move up to TV and found that there were no Total Wines up here we started buying wines on Wine.com and other online sites....we won't have to do that now that a Total Wine store is coming here....yay

This isn’t just a “place to purchase wine.” Total Wine is the size of a large grocery store and probably has ten times the selection of wine, beer, and spirits that ABC has. They also have much cheaper prices. Trader Joe’s doesn’t even come close in selection. Check out what Total Wine has and you might find a new favorite.

Just looked up the location on their corporate site. It's 641 Hwy 27/441, Lady Lake. When I googled that, it's next to the B of A at approximately 441 and Rolling Acres. Now, we just need Trader Joe's in the Earth Fare spot😉

Their selection is awesome, but they are not the bargain they were when they first started opening stores. Their prices were far below anyone else. That ship has sailed. They are now competitive but no longer the great bargain.

I agree wholeheartedly and disagree as well. Costco is like - my favorite. However, I have a home in Alpharetta, GA as well. 2 Costco's, one 4 miles away, the other about 14. I recently went to Costco for a $5 rotisserie chicken, left with $349 worth of stuff. If that was the exception it would be okay but unfortunately it's the rule (at least with me). Gotta have those shorts. Somehow the ones I have shrunk. Might as well get a couple of colors. Hmmm Pecan Pralines. This time I promise I won't finish it in one night. I'll only have a couple each day. Look at that, the floor jack is priced so low. I'll do my own oil changes and save money as well as being productive. I only have 150 k-cups at home. I guess while I'm here...........On and on and on - you get my point.

Nice to have another option but sad to hear that it's just down the highway from ABC which has been the to-go place for wine/liquor. They may not be able to survive this competition. Too bad they couldn't have opened up shop closer to 466.🤷*♀️

That would be a welcome addition IMO. I've shopped the one near Orlando .. after always going to them in Atlanta. Especially those that carry spirits in addition to Wines. Great prices, great selection. Will give ABC MUCH NEEDED competition.

Total Wine has a great selection of wines from around the world. Their Winery Direct and Distillery Direct programs bring in lesser known single malts and wines at very good prices. I've bought some pinots and scotches I can't find anywhere else. That and their sales and coupons make it a real bargain.

Quick update on Total Wine coming to TV. "Coming Soon" sign is up on the space. It's the bigger building behind Miller Ale House where Earth Fare was originally going. Space is next to the Goodwill store. I would estimate 4 to 6 weeks for opening based on what the interior build out looks like as of today.
At least this is one "rumor" that is true!

We enjoy drinking a moderately priced 'table wine' with dinner during the week
On the weekends, or when entertaining guests, we like a more upscale wine.
A nice feature with Total Wines is that the staff will post their personal recommendations for all to see....(very much like Barnes & Noble employees posted their favorite read)... we've enjoyed many of their recommendations in the past

No need for a hole, Just convert office into a cellar, our area will hold our collection well, but no room for a table, ARC approval. Second option is a commercial wine storage In same area, no ARC approval.
Third option move to different house, no ARC approval :a040:

Stu, drink what you like but don't be afraid to venture out a little. There is a HUGE difference in taste between $3 wine and $10 wine. Be adventurous!
We went yesterday and purchased 14 bottles from different wineries.
Price ranged from $ 5 to 11.
First bottle started yesterday called Tiny Umbrellas cost $ 5 as I recall. We hooked up with a lady who is a regional sales manager and she was very helpful in deciding what to buy It is a Moscato actually bottled by Gallo under a contract with Total Wines and we really enjoyed it. Will finish it tonight and tomorrow try another.
We started a scorecard to help us remember which were our favorites and we would want to reorder.
First time in a Total Wine store and we were very impressed with selection and knowledge of their employee.

I bought 2 bottles of it yesterday. It is better than the Woodbridge. So, I may be on my way to becoming a non-cheap wine drinker. Still not ready to upgrade to multi-ply toilet paper.
Drink those two bottles, and then buy two more and drink them. Then buy a bottle of Woodbridge. You'll taste the difference!!!

went to Total Wine on Saturday....as expected, huge selection
a little bit of a wait getting in...they were controlling the amount of folks inside at any one time...
other than the discount coupon that was in the paper their prices seemed competitive with the competition

Thank you very much. 49 years how fast time has flown
Yup. We're there too. In the age of divorce, I love how many "outliers" we have in TV.

My taste runs to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. And some good Italians. Check out whats on offer from New Zealand and Australia for the whites. Some good ones are the aforemention Governors Bay, Brancott, Cottesbrook, Grey Rock. For Pinot, A to Z, Ponzi, and some Chilean ones who's names escape me. Anything from Antinori for Italian or a good Brunello de Montalchino.( the latter being a little pricey but worth it.)

I can recommend a real nice Pinot Nior. Meiomi Pinot Noir 2018.

Agree with all of your choices. We drink a lot of the same wine.

We tapped 6 bottles last weekend for a 6 course dinner. 4 were perfectly matched. Other 2 I could have done a better job. Those may sit for few months until I decide what to do with them.

I have a wine system similar to many high end restaurants, the cork remains in place, so no air enters the bottle. So I can take as little or as much from the bottle, what wine is left will last for months, as if it was never opened.
Six courses takes about 4 hours plus. Think tiny food groupings on six plates...Wine pour is usually less than 2 ounce pour. All wine is poured about 8 to 10 hours to breathe. Prior to courses a taste of each wine prior to mixing with food, gives you an idea, of how the pairing of food will change each choice.
Most wine in our cellar comes directly from vineyards, that you can’t buy in stores. We do love old world, which is a good thing with the fires in CA 3 to 5 years from now vineyards may not have enough grapes for harvest.
You can however with a good decant and the right food, make a $20 bottle taste like you paid double or triple.
