water softener system with salt

I have a water softener system with salt. The system is not working properly and is filled with salt. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the salt in the machine? If anyone is interested in taking this system - you are welcome to it so long as you take the salt as well.

Anne17, sounds like you might have a salt bridge at the bottom of the unit. The other possibility is dirt in the brine line. If you are interested in saving the unit and using it, I may be able to help, send me a PM.
