Am I the only new resident having trouble remembering to move the Villages ID from the pool bag to the pickleball bag to the golf bag...Helpful suggestions on how you keep track of the ID are appreciated. Is there an electronic version/app for iPhone? Thanks in advance for your replies.

There is no electronic version of the Villages ID card, and you cannot use a copy on your phone as identification. I would suggest you attach the card to the back of your phone or get a phone flip case that will hold the card.

Well, I keep mine in my wallet all the time and never go anywhere without my wallet. Considering my advancing age and the tenor of the times, I believe in taking official ID with me wherever I go -- driver's license, health insurance card, etc., all also in my wallet at all times. Simple.

It’s not only new residents that forget. And I still don’t have any suggestions other than keep it with your phone. I never take my wallet to the pool, but do take my phone.

I feel your pain. Wish I (we) could pay for additional ID cards to have in each bag. That way I wouldn't have to tax my aging brain so much remembering to bring it with me.

I wish it were that simple. When I'm swimming, I do not trust my wallet sitting on the bench for anyone to walk away with. I also don't bring my phone into the pool area for the same reason.

Same here. I always have my Villages ID, drivers license, and gate card in my money clip and I never go anywhere without it. I rarely bring my cell phone with me, unless I am expecting an important call. I hate the way many people in society need to have their phones surgically attached to them.

I wear my Apple Watch all the time, it would be so easy to put an electronic ID on it. Also it would so convenient to have on the iPhone. Would the inspectors need a magnifying glass to read it?

I guess you’d need to make sure it could not be downloaded by anyone else. Maybe like airplane boarding pass, you’d need second ID perhaps it could be electronic too.

I no longer carry a wallet inside the bubble. I carry the id card, drivers license, one credit card and about 40 bucks in cash held by a binder clip. My trunks have secure pockets so it all goes in the pocket. When I get home it goes on the kitchen counter open to dry. No different than my wallet just more convienient and with me all the time. The wallet goes when I leave the bubble for an extednded trip so I have my medical, ATM and CWL.

they sell a rubber pocket at the Sales Center stores with the Villages logo on it that can be attached to the back of your phone and is designed to hold your ID

I never leave the house without my phone....so problem solved for me

and if I ever leave my phone someplace in TV by mistake....it's pretty easy to track me down

Ever since my husband had his wallet lifted out of his pickleball bag at the Rohan courts, we do not put our wallets in our bags while playing.

My friend's son, who is in sales, gave us a plastic sleeve with an adhesive backing that we attached to the back of our cell phones. We always have our phones with us; thus we always have our TV ID. I imagine these sleeves can be bought on Amazon.

So I guess the phone could be lifted out of the bag as well, but at least driver's license and credit card won't be.

Exactly, we have a back yard pool, but I still go to the sports pools frequently to swim laps. The back yard pool is for hanging out and staying cool, using water weights, and drinking frozen margaritas in a plastic cup.

My money clip with my ID's is in my backpack while I swim laps in the sports pools. I keep my backpack right against the wall in the lane I am swimming in, on the opposite side of the gate into the pool. I watch it closely while I swim and have never had a problem. If someone were to enter the pool from the gate they would have to walk all the way around the pool to get to my backpack, and I would surely see them and act appropriately.

A photo on your phone is not an acceptable ID, and Villages employees are not supposed to accept it.

Keep it in your wallet then you’ll always have it.
You should always carry your drivers license and your health insurance card. You never know when an accident can happen so ALWAYS carry these essential cards.

If you bring your cell phone with you everywhere you go, I suggest an attached pocket. They are really handy, stay stuck and I keep my Villages ID in it. Since my phone travels with me just about everywhere I go my ID does as well, no need to switch to different bags. They have always been in stores but not sure of the availability right now. I ordered mine on Amazon and got it in a day. It’s a great solution to the problem and can be removed and reattached. I got one with a ring since I can’t use my pop socket with it. Hope that helps.

The ID cards are scanned; it's not just a matter of being able to read them.

What I do is if I'm going to the pool, I put it in my pool bag. If I'm going to the pool the next day, I leave it in my pool bag. If I'm golfing the next morning, I put it in my wallet in my purse because I always take my purse when I go golfing. If I'm going to Samba the next morning, I leave it in my purse because I always take my purse to Samba. It works for me. I just have to think about where I'm going the next morning and make sure it's in the right location for that activity.

Almost everyone carries their phone with them even to the pools when they don't want take a wallet. Several months ago the Rec Dept was instructed to accept electronic copies of ID cards on phones if they would scan properly. STOCARD is an App that will do this. It makes a proprietory picture of your card that can't be photoshopped and it will scan succesfully. Some managers who are stuck in 20th century have resisted the 21st century update. If you have a problem, call Customer Service.

The Villages could promote the use of RFID implantable chips in, say, the back or our hands. About the size of a half inch of pencil lead. Every place an ID card might be needed would have an electronic card reader. We would place our hand against the reader or near it and the gate would open. That would be great. It could also have our drivers license, medical history, credit card.

Barring that, have a hole punched in your card and wear it around your neck on a lanyard.

Use a paper punch and get a leather string. Put the string through the hole and wear it around your neck, or arm.

NO! AND, I seem to have totally lost mine!! I kept it in my name tag/bridge membership lanyard. I also have a picture of my one we got when we were renting to buy on my phone, BUT, some folks can scan that, some can't. We've been locked down so long I have NO IDEA where mine is. We bought late 2019 and got the real thing. I'm guessing no one has found it and turned it in, since we haven't done anything since before the rec centers closed. Just hoping I can easily get a replacement when we start going to stuff that requires it...OR, all rec centers will accept and be able to scan from my phone! At least my husband can call my phone so we can find that!!!

WELL, that wouldn't work for me!! I would lose a wallet faster than I would lose my lanyard (which I really didn't lose...the id is just gone). I would have to be replacing dr. license, and all insurance cards etc on a regular basis. I do like the idea of getting a new phone cover thing, that could hold just my villages id (once i get a replacement!)

Money dries pretty quickly and, so far, in and out of the water hasn't had a negive impace on any of the cards. On occassion my wife has thrown my pants into the wash and yeah, I left it in. So pool water with clorine or warm wash with detergent doesn't seem to matter.

I don't carry a phone and leave my wallet locked in the car if I'm at a pool or rec center.
