With the diverse population of The Villages I am wondering if you can respond to this posting and say whether or not you have been "polled" about the upcoming Presidential Election. No affiliation just whether you have been polled or not. Let's say over the last 8-10 weeks. Just wondering! Just a yes or no response will do.

It depends on what you mean by that. If you mean any survey from any organization or entity, then yes - I've been polled several times. I'm a participant in a survey company and get points toward gift cards by answering surveys that I qualify for. Political surveys are pretty common.

Nope. Don't believe in them - received a few in the mail but shreded them. When we get phone calls from unknowns or those we don't want to talk with we don't answer - had a couple of polling call attempts: nope.

Political Polls are worthless and slanted to solicit the answers they want and poll demographic areas to get the responders they want!

Your chances of being polled are very low. If you read the poll results you’ll see that the number of participants is in the hundreds. Statistically, if the polling companies frame the question and select the participants randomly, that’s a very adequate number to achieve a margin of error of +/- 3%.

Honestly I don’t know. Unless I recognize a telephone number I don’t answer. If it’s important than the caller usually leaves a message. I haven’t had any recordings left by pollsters.

A lot of the so-called polling is actually workers from one party or another trying to identify your own party choice and interests in order to find the right handle to get you to make a donation or at least encourage you to vote. (If you are a member of the OTHER party, whatever that may be, they definitely do NOT want you to vote!) You can often tell by how questions are worded. Are the questions as non-judgmental as possible, or are they worded in a tricky way to elicit an emotional response or get you to agree to something you don’t really agree with? Even television network polls do this.
For example, does the “pollster” ask:
“Do you believe people on welfare are draining our income and ruining our country?”
Or
“Do you believe the government should do more to bring an end to the horrors of poverty?”
“Do you believe your precious Second Amendment rights to own firearms and protect your family are at risk?”
Or
“Do you believe people buying guns should have a criminal background check done before they receive the weapons?”
“Do you believe unborn babies should have a right to life?”
Or
“Do you believe a pregnant woman should have control of her body and have the right to choose what is done with it?”
I’m sure you could judge from the answers, as could any fake “pollster”, whether the person on the phone is a sucker who might be convinced to make a donation.
Even when pollsters are trained and taking real polls, of course, the wording of questions can have a BIG effect on the results. Both liberals and conservatives word questions at times to elicit a desired response. Some pollsters are trying to be as unbiased as possible, but others are not.
Polls are sometimes pretty reliable, but often they aren’t. Be careful who you talk to and who you believe. As for election polls, it’s not over until all the votes have been counted.

With the diverse population of The Villages.
Ha, Ha, Ho Ho, Wow. While good polling requires selecting responses from a diverse representative sample, it would seem the OP actually believes the general opinion here represents an excellent diverse sample. This may be one of the least diverse communities by age and ethnicity anywhere.
There are as a % far more white people living in Harlem NY, than POC in the Villages.
The 5 largest ethnic groups in The Villages, FL are White (Non-Hispanic) (96.6%), White (Hispanic) (1.67%), Asian (Non-Hispanic) (0.848%), Two or More Races (Non-Hispanic) (0.32%), and Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (0.308%).
So fewer than 4 out of a hundred people here are POC. And we are the oldest community in the country, and likely in the world. We are not diverse. Do not mistake the commonly held opinions of people here as representing a cross-section of the opinions of our diverse nation.

There is no diversity in The Villages, neither ethnically or politically. The Villages is at least 95% Caucasian and 96% (my estimate) white Republican, so no need to survey here for the November election. Polled or not you might guess the answer

These Polls are manipulated ! They determine who and how many people they want to poll. National polls are particularly BAD because of State population >>NY, Calif, Tx.
They rarely ask “real voters!” They just pose questions and word them in various ways!!? They are becoming less reliable.

I received my first "poll" e-mail from the DNC yesterday. Probably because at one point I "liked" an ad on Facebook. I'm not even a Democrat, heh. That's okay though. I took the poll anyway, and then I "unsubscribed."

Don't believe POLLS! Polls are to one sided, depends on who's poll it is. Also since it sounds like were going to have mail in voting, it won't be honest. So our presidential election won't be honest no matter how they do it. Unless it's done the way we've always done it, by going to a polling station & voting. Otherwise it's cheating! Our country is getting to corrupt! PS: To the TOTV, just voicing my opinion & I'm not talking about one party or the other!

And if it was one of the political polls we’re talking about, no responsible pollster would ever call anyone in The Villages. The probability of getting the same answer from almost anyone you called is too high. The Villages itself is not a “random” community.
