I'm curious to know how many vehicles you own in TV. If you have a spouse, do you and your spouse both have a car? Do you own a golf cart, motorcycle or other type of transportation?

Also, where do you keep your various vehicles?

When we moved to TV we had 3 vehicles. Our house in Tennessee sold so fast that we didn't have time to sell one of them. We purchased a home here with a two car garage and had to park one on the driveway. We finally sold the third one. The wife and I have a vehicle each, no motorcycle or golf cart. Our cars are parked in the garage.

The BMW convertible goes on one side of the garage and the two golf carts go on the other side. Also, two bicycles go in the garage. If we could add one thing to our home it would be a golf cart garage so we are not constantly shuffling the two golf carts and so there would be a little more space in the garage.

When we planned to move here we had two cars. Than decided we would be a one car/golf cart family. So we sold her car and moved here with one car.

Wife decided she would not be driving golf carts so started to look at a second car.

Covid came along and we noticed we were driving a total of 50 miles per week.

So we are sharing one car until everything opens up and than we will buy a new car.

We have a carport and a long double-wide driveway.

We have a compact car, a pickup truck, two golf carts and two bicycles.

We keep all 4 motorized vehicles in the driveway, and the bikes in the golf cart shed along with the lawnmower.

The two golf carts we park at an angle up near the laundry shed under the carport. The pickup is also under the carport, facing out. My compact car is near the end of the driveway, on the opposite side. So there's room for either of us to move our carts in and out without having to move the car or pickup, and both the car and pickup can move in and out without having to move either of the others.

Sort of like this:

You need to check your deed restrictions. I think the mule can only be taken on the golf cart paths.

One car that we only use in really bad weather or when we leave the bubble. 2 golf carts which are our primary transportation. Came here 6 years ago with 2 cars....just a waste of money to us so sold the 1 car within the first year here.

One car and one golf cart, both kept in the CYV garage. Although in 9 years I've owned 5 different cars. A 2011 Mazda 3 Grand Touring Hatchback was the original. Then a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, then a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, then a 2017 50th Anniversary Camaro, and now a 2018 Hyunda Kona.

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo I bought in October 2012, a ship from Korea with the first 750 Turbo models landed in August and I got one of the first in Central Florida, I had to drive to Winter Haven dealer to get one. It was the most fun car to drive, 201 HP and very nimble. I don't understand why anyone would buy the 138 HP non-turbo model, but I see many of them and the price isn't that much less. You can buy a new Turbo model right now for about $21,000 to $25,000 depending on the options.

The nicest car was the 2017 50th Anniverary Camaro. Only 5700 were designated as 50th with special emblems, special leather leather interior, steering wheel, floor mats and special wheels. They all came in just one color, Nightfall Gray Metallic with orange accents on the hood and trunk. It was 5" inches wider than any of the other cars, at 75" and required I back the golf cart into the garage to give extra space, otherwise the Camaro wasn't going to make it. Because of the tightness of the garage, was one of the reasons I got rid of the car. Also I had contracted Lymphoma at the time, and wasn't sure about things, but it all worked out with good doctors.

Started out with 1 SUV and 2 golf carts. Had golf cart garage. Plenty of room in garage. Discovered needed 2 cars more than 2 golf carts because the distance to different stores, 'rec centers for activities. Bought car, sold golf cart. Result garage is tight. Bought narrower SUV. Now ok. Even if you and your wife golf at the same time, no problem, one of you just ride with the other golfer.

We have 1 car and 2 golf carts. Tried to get along with only 1 cart, but during a conversation early on with a neighbor, it was pointed out that if you and your husband both golf on the same day, which we did, one of you would always have to mooch a ride. Maybe a subtle message...I think not...but we try to use our carts rather than our car. Waiting for a classic car to join the family.

When we moved here we had two cars and purchased two golf carts. All fit in the garage with one cart behind the other. But it got to the point where we only drove the SUV and the Z4 just sat there. Due to my health, I could not get into it very easily anymore, so we sold it. We are also thinking about going to just one cart. These days, if I go anywhere it is with Kate, and she is the only one that does anything alone. I drive my cart once in a blue moon just to keep the tires round.

A 2011 built masonry CYV (Woodlawn/Durham model) small suv and one golf cart in a 1-1/2 car garage looks like this. Every inch of the garage must be used, plus Tim Miller who installed our attic steps 9 years ago, also did 100 sf of plywood in the attic for storage.

Have 1 F-150 Crew Cab (wife's), 1 Explorer (mine), 3 Corvettes (my play cars), 1 64 Impala 409 (wife's) and one golf cart -- only regularly drive the Explorer and the truck. One Vette is in my garage, the Impala is in my next door neighbor's garage along with the golf cart (they come here about 3 months a year and only use a golf cart), the other two Vettes are stored at my mechanic's place in Summerfield and the Explorer and F-150 are parked in the driveway. Speaking for myself! I only had one car & a golf cart. An extra car (auto) is great but not to drive totally in town, in town driving is harder on a car engine than highway driving, that's why I owned a golf cart. But it is always nice to have an extra car in case of an emergency. In town driving just makes the oil in your car get very sludgy & causes it to over heat. I know someone will disagree with me but after working in a auto engine plant for 38 yrs. & working in a Dyno Lab you learn a few things. This is just my opinion, so if you don't agree, that's OK buy another car & you can maintain it. 2 cars are nice if you can afford it. I like 1 car & 1 golf cart! :bigbow:

Thanks everyone! At this point, if we moved to TV tomorrow, I think we would bring 2 vehicles with us -- a pick up and a small SUV. And we would most likely buy a golf cart once we got there. I was just trying to figure out the logistics of how we would park the vehicles along with the logistics of having our young adult sons come to visit us.

We have dogs, so we require a fenced in yard. I'm leaning towards a 3 bedroom CYV at this point. This is all sight unseen. We haven't even visited TV, yet. Your answers have all been very helpful. Thank you!

We could never get by with one vehicle with our different schedules. I don't golf, don't care for driving cart, and don't like being stuck at home all day w/o vehicle. Not traveling like we used to.

You keep your vehicles on your own property. Car, motorcycle and golf car in the garage and your second car on your driveway, it is really not to hard to figure out. If you live in a villa there are two storage lots in the villages and several outside of the villages.

2.5 garage, standard size. Had 2 SUVs and a golf cart. All inside but super tight fit. So just recently, downsized. Traded my GMC with less than 20,000 miles for a smaller Buick crossover. Doing my part to stimulate economy. LOL
We could never get by with one vehicle with our different schedules. I don't golf, don't care for driving cart, and don't like being stuck at home all day w/o vehicle. Not traveling like we used to.

If you traded your GMC in for a compact Buick Envision you just stimulated the Chinese economy.

See that nifty Camaro several posts up? People were flipping out trying to figure out a way to put the money together at the dealer it was traded in at. The car was Beautiful but they marked it up for more than the book value and still, the youngins wanted it.

We have one or two cars. Whenever I see a deal I snag it have it detailed and dump it for W.A.M. There are a whole lot of beautiful cars wasting space in garages of people who unfortunately can't drive anymore. You have to act quickly cause I'm not the only one doing this now and then.

We basically have 1 Car and 2 Golf Carts.

Does anybody have an Old School Caddy Land Yacht hidden away and feel like selling it? Locally only. All cars kept at our home.

A clever hacker can “discover” all kinds of info. Just because the originator of this post claims it is all for informational purposes to purchase a home (welcome), doesn’t mean some of these very detailed responses couldn’t backfire.

I currently have 5 vehicles parked in my garage and driveway. When/if we move to TV we will be downsizing considerably, as most residents do.

We'll need to think about what we'll bring with us and it is helpful to me to think through logistics like that before I actually start to look at properties.

I'm sure that I'll have some questions about furniture, too. Ex: what size bed for the MBR (will my King sized bed fit through the doorways), sectional vs couch + chairs, etc. I would imagine that these are all very common questions. Or at least I would think they would be.

I appreciate the helpful responses on this thread but, I will admit, I am a bit baffled by your concerns. If I were asking for names, addresses and safe combinations that would be different - trust me, I do not need more stuff than I already have!

Thank you!
with some CYV on the end you can add a golf cart garage for extra space

I rented a CYV this past winter and got fed up trying to get my sedan and golf cart both in the 1 1/2 car garage. Even the neighbors walking by tried to help but if I got both vehicles in, I couldn’t open the car door to get out! The drive was short and very sharply curved so I was running thru the edge of neighbors rock bed. There was guest parking a couple of hundred yards away and sometimes I left car there, but usually just left cart on drive. So now I’ve bought a 2 car plus golf cart garage and I’ll be happy!

I'm curious to know how many vehicles you own in TV. If you have a spouse, do you and your spouse both have a car? Do you own a golf cart, motorcycle or other type of transportation?

Also, where do you keep your various vehicles?

My husband insisted that we sell the second car because we have the golf cart. We don't have problems that much but when we do I am the one who is supposed to drive the golf cart:ohdear:

We have a Lincoln SUV, a restored MGA, a golf cart and two bicycles. If the golf cart garage was just 18” deeper, we could park the MG there! Everything fits inside, with plenty of room to spare.

We will be starting a search for new car in a couple of weeks.

Same here. I'll be leaving my 3/4 ton Dodge behind. Not sure if we'll get a second car or not. Will wait and see what our needs end up being.

When I was 17 I got my first car, a 1968 Pontiac something or other with MANUAL A/C (a large hole in the passenger side floor). Didn't bring it here. When I gradumated from Kollidge in 1970 I got a brand new Ford Pinto. Didn't bring that here. After the Pinto exploded I got a 1971 Plymouth Duster 340 didn't have air conditioning so I sold it. My memory has failed me from 1973 to 2017 but if you are interested I can make up a list of previously owned vehicles. When we moved down here in 2017 we had 2 cars, sold one and am here with 1 car and 1 air-conditioned/heated golf cart which saves me on gas and insurance for a 2nd car except the golf cart was so large because it has doors we had to widen our garage by 4 feet which cost more than buying another car !.

It is myself & spouse. He has a pickup truck, & I have a four door sedan. Plus one two seater golf cart. We keep one vehicle & the golf cart in the garage. We switch out every week for one vehicle in the driveway & the other in the garage. This works well for us. When we first moved here 9 yrs ago we kept two vehicles and two golf carts. One was a two seater & the other a four seater. This proved to be too much. We decided that when visitors come we can rent a golf cart if need be.
