Yep! I like to watch my little guys outside the lanai. Never seen one eat a bug though.

I very much like the little bug eating critters, but very much dislike the birds that dive bomb our birdcage and peck holes in the screen in an attempt to eat the geckos.

The geckos mostly likely only can be seen at night around porch lights or lighted walls and are kind of rare in this area. The ones you see in day light are anoles, and skinks. I seen some geckos at Chatham rec center after dark on walls by lights catching buds drawn by the light. They have little suction pads on there feet.

the lizards in TV all seem to just go after bugs
that was the case in Ft Lauderdale for years....then a new type of lizard showed up, just a little larger with a curled up tail....they went after the other lizards...that changed the whole game...the hunters were now the hunted

Don’t like the snakes that chase them. Can tell the snakes are around when the geckos hide.

Drives me crazy! Our dog relentlessly barks and paws at the lanai screen or windows, and he practically pulls my arm out of its socket when I take him outside. The cat batted one around when it got inside and stunned the poor little thing, but we rescued it. Good thing he had insurance—It’s tough to do CPR on a gecko.

I live in a patio villa so they crawl up under siding and come in my lanai and poop all over the furniture. I’ve tried various means to keep them out but not much works. Any suggestions? They are cute outside my lanai.

Moved in here last June and had lots of Anoles running around my patio, window sills and, rarely one would get in my lanai. My little 12-lb dog found great sport in trying to catch them though I don'y think he ever did. This year - there are NONE. I haven't seen any snakes yet but last year there were nine snake eggs in the irrigation box. I suppose that is why the Anole's disappeared.

They can get in through openings where the screen door saddle is. I stuffed it with part of an exfoliating bath sponge (you know the things that look like look like nylon balls) and have kept them out of the lanai.

I have lots of them around the yard.
Does that get me a discount on my GEICO policy?

Yep, it was my son-in-law, a former Eagle Scout, who corrected me and said they were anoles and not geckos. We have baby anoles right now and my little dog loves to chase them. Usually a brown shade, I have found green ones that are much prettier...perhaps those are geckos. Anyone?

Try to locate their entry point from under the siding in your lanai , spray their access point under the siding with spray foam expands and closes their entry . Worked for us .

I find it easier just to grill them on a skewer 5 or 6 at a time then its so much easier to eat!

Brown ones are invasive to FL
Green ones are a native species, usually found higher up in trees.

In Hawai'i, a gecko in the house is considered good luck because they go after the bugs and centipedes. Hawai'ian centipedes are nasty buggas. Nine inches long and their bite will put you in severe pain for 7-10 days. I'll take geckos and anoles any day over bugs in the house.

Yep, curly tails. I'm so glad we don't have them here. They are disgusting.

Cute to look at outside but didn't like trying to catch one inside the lanai. Did NOT want to sleep with that thing crawling around the villa. Caught it with a lot of "GROSS GROSS GROSS" semi screams.

my son would go nuts if someone didn't explain that anoles and geckos are not the same lizard. LOL

They seem territorial. I have two who like to climb the screen on the lanai. They come so often I have given them names. One of them is a guard, any other anole is really not welcome. He puffs out his throat and the tail curls. A true little dragon! One time he got inside and I had Massey put him outside gently. Now I know how to do it too.

We have one without a tail, who we named "Stubby". He must have had a bad encounter with a predator. He's always just outside the slider, and last night he was clinging to the inside of the screen, where he spent the night. Stubby is now growing a new tail, which is much darker than his body, and once it fills in, we'll have to rename him.

Must have been Geico.
